CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS REQUIRE COURSE ON ISLAM

Some California public schools are requiring students to attend a three-week course on Islam since the September 11 terrorist attacks in America.

ASSIST News Service is reporting that seventh-graders must learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own jihad. Students must memorize many verses in the Koran, are taught to pray "in the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful" and are instructed to chant, "Praise to Allah, Lord of Creation."

Nancy Castro, principal of Intermediate-Excelsior School of Byron, told ANS that the Islam course "is not religion, but ancient culture and history. We do not endorse any religion; we just make students aware."

Already posted here.

That thread has a link to even more articles on the same story. I find the reports a little incredulous, though I won't dismiss the possibility of something so heinous.

Have there been any lawsuits filed? What about injunctions to stall the implementation until a court can review it?

stage their own jihad.

Does the school give them firecrackers to hide in their sneakers or do they have to supply them themselves?

EXCUSE ME! This sounds like endorsing a religon to me.
Do they do the same thing with christianity, judiasm, or buddhism? If not then they ARE endorsing a religon!

Gosh, I hope this isn't true, because it violates the old "Separation of Church and State" thing.

They will claim they are promoting diversity. Liberals cloak anti-Americanism under the evil cloak of diversity.

I'd HARDLY call a religious culture that's less than 700 years old "ancient".

Christianity is over TWICE as old, and it's what OUR OWN CULTURE is based upon. Are children "required" to study Christianity? Judaeism?

Hopefully there will be a lawsuit brought against everybody and this course will then go away.

If we as a people put up with everything and don't slap them down when they do this then they'll do even worse in the future.

Maybe there are some CA lawyers on FR willing to go after California on this issue.

There needs to be a big conservative version of the ACLU.

ACLU = American Communist Lawyers Union.

How about CLAP? = Conservative Lawyers Against Perversian. LOL

Yeah, mentioning Christmas is a violation of the "law," but having students chant "Allah is the Creator" isn't. Right. Again, this is proof that separation of church state means separation of Christianity and state. Intolerance is perfectly accepted toward Christians, but only toward Christians

Where the hell is the ACLU? Hypocrites.

stage their own jihad.

is this the same school that Walker attended and isn't making students jihads just a little incendiary?

lets be honest -aren't jihads really about killing Jews and Christians? what sane American teacher would require students stage killings? what is the PURPOSE? or are California schools so desperate for teachers they can only afford the new "dumbed-down generation"?

The education department requires a legal group that takes on conservative concerns in court. How about CRAP = Conservative Republicans Against Persia/Perverts? LOL

I'm saying we need to put a lot of C•R•A•P in the education departments lives.

Hello everybody;

I am working with several parents and KSFO radio host David Gold on this. I live in Byron and personally know at least one boy who is taking these classes right now. I have some some of his homework assignment given out by the teachers of these classes and have interviewed the student. Nancie Castro wrote a nasty gram to David Gold stating her story on what was happening at the school. One of the parents of these students was at my house and read her letter. She called Ms Castro "disingenuous" (to be nice). I am organizing a meeting with as many parents of these students as possible in order to get a complete picture of what's happening. I have spoken with the head of the town council who also stands in as town mayor. She also happens to be a close personal friend. She has indicated that she too will investigate the situation beginning with her friend Peggy Green who is the school superindendant. It appears that Islam is tag-team taught by three classes Spelling, Language and History. It also appears (but not yet confirmed) that one of the teachers in question is Muslim. Lastly ... the student that I have interviewed said that he found the lessons "disgusting" and refused to participate in them. Consequently he is receiving failing grades for these classes.

I will be posting an article with all correspondence between David Gold and myself (I have his permission) pertaining to this issue. I nor anybody I have spoken to about this in Byron is going to take this sitting down. I had to calm my friend who lives across the street from the school as he wanted to go out and by some roofing tar and goose feathers ...... and a long rail ......
