About 25 years ago there was a school prayer case in, I think, NJ about the schools teaching Trancendental Meditation (y'know, that Maharishee stuff that was so popular with the Beatles). It turns out that the kids were supposed to chant something in Sanskrit - they weren't told what the words meant but it turned out to be an incantation to some Hindu diety. Also supposed to bring a small item, like a handkerchief, as a gift to lay under a photo of the (long dead) founder of the TM movement; they weren't told anything about this little ritual but it was a typical form of Hindu veneration. In other words, the kids were never told the religious significances of what they were doing (and how it might conflict with their family's own religion) and they simply went through the motions -- but this was enough to make the classes unconstitutional.

There was another case in, I think, Arizona where a school district started what it claimed were courses in the Bible as history and literature (which, if true, would have been legal), but which turned out to be teaching kids Book of Mormon stories. The court had no hesitation to call that unconstitutional.

Here we have kids being taught what I am sure is a Very Favorable viewpoint of Mohammed and his history, and being made to remember and recite Islamic verses and jargon. It doesn't matter if they don't realize they are praying, it's positively unconstitutional.

Already posted Here, but bears repeating. Phone number and address posted on that thread:

Edie Donahey on Fox and Friends mentioned this at about 7:30 this AM, in response to a flood of e-mail, but said she "couldn't find any mention of it on the school district's website."

Can you imagine the barrage of lawsuits and problems we would have from the ACLU if Christianity were taught in the public schools, and if we tried to teach about the contributions of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the Apostle Paul?

I cannot imagine why any Christian parent is not pursuing this to the highest court !!! That is even more incredulous . I know without a doubt if I had children of school age, I would be the 1st in line bringing this to court !!! Immediately... What is wrong with these parents, it's about time the silent majority acts instead of just mouthing off.

Folks, it's California. Nothing coming from that state surprises me.

Nevertheless, I am going to send this to the ACLU just to review their non-response.

Where are the high-minded chants of Separation of Church and State?

The ACLU has about as much credibility as the NOW gang. Both organizations are nothing more than liberal, agenda-driven phoneys. The ACLU will be as silent on this issue as the NOW gang was about Clinton's disgusting treatment of women.

"The course mandates that seventh-graders learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, wear a robe, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own jihad.

Is this supported by the billions of federal funds going into education? Who decided this course should be taught? Who is the teacher, a Muslim? Like Black History Month, this is will not help your child in the future to put bread and butter on the table. It will not help him or her to find a job. It is more of the deliberately dumbing down of American children.

Send this article via hard mail or fax to your elected whether of not you live in California. This school should loose all federal funding, if the State of CA wants to fund this sort of nonsense, fine! But not on my federal tax dollar! Send a copy of the article to the attention of:

or e-mail the following:

Then By all means let the White House know what you think of spending tax dollars on this program. Then by all means, send hard mail or fax to Secretary Rod Paige's attention, this article asking for an explanation.

Christianity is fast becoming the last legitimized target of bigotry
and hatred in our society.

Christ-haters proliferate on our campuses, in Hollywood and on the
internet. Tax-funded museums display exhibits specifically designed
to desecrate Christian symbols.

Anti-religious vandalism directed at Christian institutions is commonplace.
It is now culturally acceptable to make unbelievably derogitory comments
about Christians and even Jesus Himself in all forms of media.

Is socially-sanctioned street violence against Christian believers just
around the corner?   I, for one, think we will see some form of it within
20 years.
