[history]
Attorneys for an Arab-American Secret Service agent kicked off an American Airlines flight on Christmas Day accused the pilot yesterday of singling out the agent because of his ethnicity.
The agent's attorneys claim the American Airlines pilot refused to verify the agent's credentials, even though the agent tried to give the pilot the names and telephone numbers of his supervisors at the Secret Service and the White House. The agent's name has not been released due to security concerns.

So let's get this straight. An armed suspected Terroist is kicked off this plane. Even if the pilot was right he was wrong. This Angry nervous hostile Terroist is set free inside a terminal where there are many planes for the taking and mostly unarmed people. A man with a very realistic looking badge and credentials. To do what??? Kill people???

Actually the SS agent is acting just like the initials imply.
Of all the FLEAs these are the ones that need scratching most.
What is it with agencies that us the Initials SS, just have to throw their weight around

should be fired. My chief concern is that he contnues to guard, and be trusted by, President Bush?
If he'll make up this story, what could he do to Bush.
BTW the full pilot statement is on a previous thread.
To: Kennard
My Chief concern is that had he been a terroist. The Captain freed him to go onto another plane and use his fake badge but real gun to take another plane. Or start shooting passengers in the terminal. Had this been a real terroist he would have used his weapon at some point. Why set him free??

And this agent is trusted to do what? Cause a confrontation?
Seems like this agent needs a little retraining time.
I sure wouldn't want a hot head like this on my security detail.
You would hope that everytime someone made a move that might look like danger but wasn't wouldn't be me with gunfire, but this guy sure leans that way.
Why didn't he offer to difuse the situation by giving the nervous pilot his gun for safe keeping?
To: tarpon_bill
First rule in law enforcement. Never give up your gun. What if it had been the Pilot that was the fake and he didn't want this agent on board so he could fly this plane into the WhiteHouse. Just as likely a Fake Pilot.
Even so why would a pilot let an armed terroist off the plane into the coucorse without having him detained???

Notice who the agent's lawyer is: John Relman. The guy has a track record of lawyering big discrimination cases (ex: Denny's restaurant). I wonder who called whom? And if the agent called Mr. Relman, how did the agent get Relman's name?

The pilot is the final word. The agent needs to get over it. They whine about no security, they whine when they attempt to create a secure environment. The agent is an idiot.

The next job for this agent ought to be protecting Buddy's grave. Then he can be the big cheese!!!!

And this agent is trusted to do what?If he can't be fired, then he should be put on paid administrative leave.
He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the President ... unless Bush wants a live test of the notion that it's "a loving religion".

What an A-hole the agent is. Making a big public scene over this. Reminds me of the event last year when a Muslim intern for David Bonior was ushered out of the WH and boy all Hell broke loose. CAIR came crawling out of the woodwork and made a big ole' public stink. Suck it up and DEAL for God's sake.

Whenever the charge of discrimination is leveled at someone other than the government the proper response is "So What?".

From what I understand, this agent screwed up filling out his paperwork at least twice! He also left several lines from the paperwork blank, leaving the pilot with more questions than answers.
This agent should be more than aware of the predicaments Airlines are faced with since Sept. 11th., and ougt to be doing mea culpas all over the place.
To raise a big stink embarrasses not only the SS, but also the Bush Administration!
Put the guy on dog detail for the rest of his career!
good grief!
To: veronica
Well, there's obviously a problem here if a question about an agent's identity couldn't be answered in an immediate and authoritative fashion.
But I would also like to ask the agent a question: Has the agent ever used racial profiling?

After reading both the pilots and passengers claims and a report from the pilot and others, I am convinced that both the pilot and the agent are class A Clymers.
Final Call: Offsetting Clymers, no penalty....

If a snake is poisonous it doesn't have to be a rattlesnake to kill you.
If American doesn't fight this in court and win, the airline industry is washed up in this country. They will have to allow any terrorist that want on a plane to board.

Right now I support the pilot against some S.S.Agent who is supposed to operate quietly and unobtrusively.
A lot of people in our government like to throw their weight around,Remember Kennedy pushing the screener around at an airport,ON FILM.
Not to mention the terrorists who steered the planes into the WTC, Had Identification.
If I were Bush I would have this guy's position reevaluated since he makes too much NOISE for a Covert Job.
I would like to know how he was selected for the post,do they select 1 Irish ,1 Hispanic,1 Italian,1 English,1 Black, 1 Arab, this could go on all day.
Get a new agent ,a little more quiet than this one.
