Michael Rivero claims the bin Laden tape is a "government lie" - he posted this as the picture from the bin laden tape.



As you can see in the first picture is from the bin Laden tape and shows him. The second picture was a manipulation by Michael Rivero in order to further his propaganda.

Mind you, I'm one of the ones who thinks MR is a bubble short of level. I usually tried to avoid his conspiracy posts before he got banned. But regardless, this kind of bashing is what I would consider a perfect example of what we call "Texas Tacky." (And see? I can say all that about him and throw caution to the wind because he's banned.)

This would fit michael's M-O (photo manip).

He has also claimed an awful lot on the internet. For instance, he claims to have worked for NASA "when they used to build 'working' spacecraft", he's been a film industry illustrator and special video effects editor.

His literary work also apeared recently on William Cooper's website where he plagerizes work by The New American about the OKC bombing. You can check both od those sites for proof of this yourself.

So far, there seem to be at least three riveros: 1)"NASA" scientist, 2) the video special effects editor and 3) a writer.

As a veteren of NASA from back in the days when we COULD get probes to Mars in one piece, I can assure you that you are quite wrong. We did not see these types or rates of failures during Viking, Voyager, Surveyor, Lunar Orbiter, Pioneer, etc.

But it is MR's style to present information and then, when people with differing opinions provide informarion, or worse, present information with facts that contradicts what MR has espoused, MR and his merry band of cohorts start in with the "government shill", "government hugger", etc, etc. The pattern was very well established - subscribe to the conspiracy worldview of MR - or be labeled part of a conspiracy dedicated to supressing the "truth".

I argued with MR about many of his theories, especially the Kursk sinking and I think the JFK crash. Your response does not address the point of my post, which the lack of any evidence for photo-faking by anybody. This charge of fakery has been trumpeted as "proven" when so far as I know it has merely been repeated several times.

Sorry, but there were A LOT of people that WATCHED that particular video (PLUS it's available for VIEWING AGAIN on the internet) and DID NOT SEE the face that now shows up on rivero's website ...

ONE SEEMS TO FORGET the phenomenal human ability to 'memorize' or imprint an facial image into one's memory then later be able to distinguish whether or not that is the same 'face' or not - this is NOT a face that appeared in or on that video.

This is another not-so-clever trick of rivero's - extract a TINY piece of so-called 'evidence' and then orchestrate and base a HUGE conspiracy theory around it.

This 'trick' works on the simpler minded - but NOT on those with the ability to discern, recall from memory and make careful consideration of ALL evidence surrounding a situaiton or event - or video ...

As an old time FReeper, I regard Michael Rivero to be one of the most interesting posters to ever post to Free Republic. I always looked for his threads and valued them greatly as they always challenged me to think a bit harder and deeper about unfolding events, and to question the official truth. Consequently, I regard his banishment and the nuking of his collective contributions to Free Republic to be a tragic loss, not only to this forum, but to our nation -- a nation which needs more than ever to be challenged to question the official "truth" and THINK.

I have to agree with this. I found Mike's site long before I found FreeRepublic. I didn't always agree with him, but I did appreciate the enormous amount of work he put in to find and present information.

Here is a posting by some one who grew extremely tired of the 'crap' that rivero would post on one e-mail list group.

This represents the *feeling* he left with a number of people on ddifferent newsgroups and e-mail 'listservs' which he frequented - and proceeded to leave 'bad tastes in their mouths'.

Anyway, Mr. Rivero, I regret ahead of time for missing anything you say in 
the future, including the above posting, as I now group all incoming email 
from "Michael Rivero" into the 'spam' category and 'trash' it. I'm sure 
there's something good in the spam I trash but that's the risk I take to 
avoid my intelligence being personally insulted with weird schemes. The 
derogatory statements from you are distracting from the real business at 
hand, trying to stop airplane accidents, not getting people to feel bad, 
such as me or the Navy or government officials or fellow posters. 
I shall have to try to learn the 'filter' item on the email program menu 
to avoid even the effort of trashing. 

Too bad, contrary opinions are few, but I've waded through your ravings 
for months on newsgroups and now a mailing list. The mailing list is worth 
saving because there are quiet educated listeners out there and more who 
ask good questions. And I answer every question and respond to every 
statement with the detail it deserves.
