Oh Palo ... I wish things were that easy .. but reality is .. it is not

We are a country of 280 million people .. Bush can't just come in and throw his weight around .. cause then he would be no better then Clinton

Bush IMO believes this needs to be worked out on the Hill .. isn't that what the Constitution is all about??

As much I would love for Bush to throw out a lot of stupid rules and laws .. this is not the way to go .. we don't want or need a dictator .. we need a Leader, which IMO is what Bush is trying to do .. the problem is there are too many BUTTHEADS up on the Hill

This is where WE THE PEOPLE need to start making changes and vote these losers out of office .. it will not be easy and it will take time .. but we can do it ..

OK ... now let me see if I have this correct .. According to the Democrats .... If I believe in God and I am a Conservative .. I am now in the same category as the Taliban????

Maureen, what liberals, and libertarians like me have been mostly saying is that the Looney conservative Christians like Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell and Jimmy Swaggart who believe that theirs is the only correct brand of Christianity and that everyone outside their church is going to hell and think that their brand of Christianity alone should be taught in school and should replace the constitution as supreme law of the land are just like the Taliban.
There are only a few whacko leftwingers who say all right wing christians are like the Taliban

Hasn't it been nice not to see McPain's face on display for a while? And did you see articles this past week saying Jumpin Jim Jeffords might come back to the GOP 'cause (sniffle, whimper) the Dems aren't treating him right? I'll believe that when I see it. That would remove the little Daschole from leadership for a while. I turned Russert off last Sunday - did you? Tiny Tom - ugh!

No, servant, you and they are more than a few, and you do have a prejudice that goes deeper than you admit openly, but that you have revealed many times. Jerry Falwell is in NO WAY comparable to the Taliban, but you can't see it....

If Jefford can't handle being a Republican Senator, nor a Democrat Senator, he ought to resign or just shoot himself. What a weenie - who wants him? We should have more pride than to align ourselves with that weasel again.

when George first took Office, we had a Republican Congress George could have sent a bill to Congress cutting taxes by 60 per cent the Pubbies could have voted for it George could have signed it into Law

Dubya had a majority in the Senate only by counting Jim Jeffords of Vt. who later changed to Democrat. do you really think he would have voted for anything Republicans wanted?

Hi Mo
good luck at the dentist

it's not against the law or unconstitutional for a prez to send a bill asking congress to cut taxes
for congress to vote it
and prez to sign it
the pubbies didn't do it -- because no one in government thinks they can manage with less money
the pubbies always counted on the Dems to veto it before
so they could keep face with their base
I want people to keep their money
government wastes 60% of it
they could keep every program which helps people
and still manage with half the money they have
they'd just have to get value for their money

they could have gotten rid of death tax too -- that would have helped everyone
they postponed it till 2011
ha ha, we'll have quantum awakening, then there won't be anymore death
bet you ten dollars Mo we get rid of death before Congress gets rid of death tax
Love, Palo

I agree - we don't need Jumpin Jim. He didn't vote the party line anyway, so let him stay where he is but vote the GOP side. Perfect solution? Anyway, there's another one ready to jump and keep Daschle in the leadership role. Are we having fun yet? LOL.

Hi So9
that is a good point, I didn't think of that
you are right
Jeffords is worthless
his vote could not be counted on
he would have voted against it
did he vote for the miniscule tax cut George asked for instead
prolly not

The last politician to have the skill and Charisma to successfully Rerat was Winston churchill, when he changed back from Liberal to Conservative Parties in the '20s.
Jumpin' Jim is not quite in his class.

The power, authority and charisma of Winston Churchill versus the weaselly looking, weak Jeffords sounds more like a SNL skit than real life - good for this morning's laugh. Thanks for the visual. (And didn't I read that Chamberlain softpedalled on Hitler, and Churchill then came up to bat. Familiar scenario, considering the current chain of events.)

this aint 'bout George
Mo misunderstood me
the Pubbies in the House decided not to do away with death tax
postponed it till 2011
ya'll know I think the Dems are totally corrupt and out of their wits
the Pubs are honest
but I'm not the gung ho Pubbie I was last year

Looney conservative Christians ... who think that their brand of Christianity alone should be taught in school and should replace the constitution as supreme law of the land are just like the Taliban.

There you go again, Servant, implying that those who believe in what their "brand of Christianity" teaches them are looney and that they want to toss out the Constitution and replace education with religious instruction. That is only slightly less nonsensical than saying that they are "just like the Taliban."

Which religion does not think that it is the way? You will not find one. If you could, then it would not be a religion at all. And if you ever took the time to reflect on it, I think that you would come to the conculsion that given a choice you might prefer the company of the "Conservative Christians" you detest to the Taliban. But maybe not.

Jumpin' Jim is a traitor
I think of him like Benedict Arnold
our citizens voted in a Republican Congress so George would have the backing he needed
Jumpin' Jim usurped the citizens' will
and handed Senate to the Dems
slick willy bragged he was behind it, and I believe it
