No source cited but if true, this is a serious warning to the Pakistanis that India is serious, ready to kick butt, and will not be intimidated but the Pakistan nuke threat. Again, if true, this is about the most serious evidence that India is indeed close to starting at least limited operations on known Paki terrorist cells and sympathizers. They are essentially telling Pakistan 'use the nuclear trigger at your own peril'.

What needs to be read into this is that Pakistan has made thinly veiled threats of using nukes and India is responding by saying if you do, we'll survive but you will be wiped out.
This is deterrent talk - not "stupid" talk.

This is what happens when you dont have any Nuclear strikes in a generation.
A bunch of idiots who dont comprehend what a Nuclear strike even means. They cannot comprehend the responsibility involved and you get a bunch of loose talk about their use.
I wouldnt be surprised if these two heathen nations lobbed a couple at each other before they figure it out.

A nuclear bomb is not as bad as some on the list might think. I am not saying it is a good thing, we would all rather not have it happen, but how many know that we have suffered and survived fallout from foreign nuclear blasts already? http://www.oism.org/nwss/s73p929.htm This was as "dirty" as the chernobyl disaster, only a bit more spread out :). Most of America was covered in a fallout cloud! Full text here, for those who want to learn more about the facts of nuclear war survival. It is really an excellent read. http://www.oism.org/nwss/

INDIA boasted yesterday that it would survive a first strike by a Pakistani atomic weapon, but that its neighbour would be wiped out in a swift nuclear counter-attack.The article offers that sensational lead and then follows up by recycling all the news we already know.
For one, India can not boast anything. Quotes and statements can not be attributed to countries, they have to be attributed to the people running them. This statement doesn't even reference an off the record source. Its just pure $@^&!#* bull&%$^.
I wish newspapers were more responsible and not desperate to print off sensationalist yet inaccurate news. I also wish Drudge wouldn't make a big deal out of such crap.

India has no choice. Like Arafat, Pakistan has been harboring terrorist and his been using that against India.
Pakistan has not ruled out nuclear first strike and India has. Vajpayee has to let Pakistan know that they better not even think of using their nuclear weapons.
Musharraf should arrest the damned terrorists. These Islamic dictatorships are weak, so they don't arrest terrorists and let them attack their enemies.

INDIA:'WE WILL SURVIVE NUCLEAR WAR' Who'd notice?
To: Squantos; harpseal; Travis McGee; chookter; Jeff Head
What is the reaction of the United States to a nuke stike against Pakistan that kills some of the Americans now stationed there? Do we consider that it is a hostile strike against us? That almost makes our servicemen hostages to our own foreign policy.

If a culture believes in re-incarnations, what's to loose??????????????????????
I like India so no insult meant at their beliefs, but it's their belief so what threat is there in dying?
To: codebreaker
Will the fallout from this nuclear war smell anywhere as bad as these people do in an elevator?
I've got two words for both sides of this conflict -
BAR SOAP!

WE'LL SURVIVE NUCLEAR WAR, SAYS INDIA
It depends on what they mean by survive. According to the First Law of Thermodynamics, "the total energy of the system plus the surroundings is constant." So, if you detonate a nuke over a city, all the buildings and the inhabitants will be transformed into varying forms of matter. But I would hardly call being transformed into ash "survival".
To: codebreaker
Hmmm, if they think they can survive surely I can here in America, besides, my Iodide tablets arrived yesterday, but I pray that this is all bluffing because it's sheer madness
Neither of these two countries have anything worth fighting for let alone going nuclear over?
