It depends on what they mean by survive. According to the First Law of Thermodynamics, "the total energy of the system plus the surroundings is constant." So, if you detonate a nuke over a city, all the buildings and the inhabitants will be transformed into varying forms of matter. But I would hardly call being transformed into ash "survival".

I would bet that the first to unleash a biggun is gonna automatically be considered the bad guy and the world will be against em. Strikes (conventional) like the world has bever seen before in the history of modern warfare will destroy that countries ability to attack ever again IMHO.

I would also suspect that the curent PakIndia saber rattling we see right now is just that....... I'm sure that Russia, NATO, etc have briefed both sides as to their fate if they use their new toys........(IMHO)

Ours would be there in EVERY major political center of their nation in less than eight minutes... and of the three hundred or so mirved and sub launched nukes, 295 plus would do EXACTL"Y what they were designed to do... there would be NO china... and at worst ONE partially destroyed US city, much like new york... not a small thing, but the economy of scale to consider for China would be unsurvivable.

ANY fool who thinks we actually dismantled our entire neutron bomb program, and that we don't have the ability to deliver it in thirty minutes or less... needs a brain transplant.

the targetting systems on the chinese rockets and their MIRVs, if they have them are OUR technology... and we let them "steal it" for a reason... heh heh... wait till the lights come on, but nobody is at home....

People do not realize how virtually invincible we are militarily as a nation... IF we have the political will to use that might.... the question is do we? The chinese may wonder... and that is dangerous, for THEM.

History SHOULD teach the world... the USA has continually developed weapons beyond belief.. and has proven that they WILL use them on occasion. I would never bet against the USA...

India will crush Pakis in less than fifty minutes... the only problem is how to clean up the radioactive mess and get our troops out of the radioactive wind trails....

If the muslims want a nuke war, fifteen minutes after they THINK they have a working bomb... what would they do if they had some real toys to play with? I think we need to defuse these ticking timebomb muslim nations BEFORE they get some really dangerous toys in their stockpiles that work...

Why doesn't India just kick out of the country its muslim population? I think this ought to prevent any future altercations with Pakistan and is a much better solution than an outright nuclear confrontation.

I am sure that has been considered, but I believe there are more than 100 million of them in India, so that is not a workable option. The US can't do that here either.

It seems that the only long term solution is to keep rooting out any vestige of militant Islamic activity and teaching worldwide. The world will have to learn to view militant Islam as morally reprehensible and to fight it openly anywhere it pops up.

As far as I know we have no stated policy on reaction to Indian Strikes that kill or injure US personnel. This is a very nasty situation and people had best understand that it is nasty. What happens to US personnel in Afghanistan if the supply bridge over Pakistan is cut? What happens if Al Qaeda gets its paws on Pakistani nukes andf they are smuggled to the USA? The China connection is also a matter of grave concern.

I do not have answers but if both sides are talking about using these weapons we could very well be in a situation where an accidental war like WWI could occur.

Well, on the brighter side it would certainly displace the Muslim worlds obsession on the US as the "Great Satan", it would also serve to REALLY FOCUS the leaderships of the other Muslim countries on just what can happen when you piss off a nuclear power (read Israel) enough if Pakistan suddenly goes boom....
