A bright & cheery Good Morning to you all!!!
(I can say that ONLY because I am writing this at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday!!! I figured it was safer to have something in the can, as Chair would say, then to try to wing it at the ungodly hour of whatever hour it is right now.:)
We here in Mozie-land are slowly coming back down to earth after a hectic, fun-filled,busy, tiring, and joyous Christmas. We give thanks to our Creator for the precious gift of His Son and we pray that the peace & joy brought to us by the remembrance of His birth will continue to grow in our hearts and in all of yours.
Mr. ML & I are delighting in the antics of our offspring, all 3 of whom are home from college for winter break.
Boychild #2 is in training for the position of in-home kitchen knife salesman (temporary, college student-type work.) As he left for his interview he looked positively dapper in his (thrift shop) pin-stripe suit, power tie, sneakers and pony tail.
Girlchild was delighted to discover that the UWGB mens basketball team eats all of their meals, during winter break, at the Country Kitchen where she waitresses, via a voucher system worked out with the school. So all of these tall, hunky guys are coming in & ordering LOTS of food. Eye candy and generous tips; what more could a girl ask for??
Boychild #1 is on a health kick and now requires bottled water, unsweetened breakfast cereal, raw vegetables, and a regime of running, weight-lifting, raquetball, etc. Someone remove this POD PERSON from our midst, QUICK!! (His former diet consisted of pizza & Dr. Pepper, and his idea of exercise was..........well, he HAD no idea of exercise....)
Well, Ive bored you enough. I have to admit being a bit out of the loop re: current events so I will trust that those with functioning brain cells will fill us in.
Morning tillacum.......Well, I've got to get breakfast on the table!!
see ya's :)
If truth be told, I too have to travel 20+ miles a day on slippery roads to get to work, so I have been as happy as a lark not to have to endure these conditions over the past few months.(My children are reveling in what we have though, as they scurry out the door to make snow angels, and "S" forts.)
I do feel better though that our sun is climbing a bit higer now, and day by day we will continue to grow longer in daylight!
I remain, Your humble, and obedient!
Seriously, the drive didn't used to bother me, until my very close near miss last December when I thought for sure I was going to be sandwiched between 2 cars and a bread truck.
I am glad I have a lot of vacation days saved up in case I want to take a snow day.
Nita, you can send some of those temps and white flakes down this way.
Not to worry sir, the forecast for next week is currently showing lows at night in the 30's & 40's, so me thinks you will get some good use out of your fireplace! Daytime highs in the 50's & 60's (oh well, this is the south afterall!) Here is the local forecast:
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!!:) :) :)
I can DO this....because I'm the THREAD-starter! Hee-hee-hee!! Neener-neener-neener!!!:) :) :)
I can do this JUST COZ I CAN!!!
BTW, meant to tell you: Our choir did an a capella version of "Go Tell It On The Mountain" for Christmas that was just fabulous; very jazzy & up-tempo, in 4-part harmony.Fun stuff. Also a version of "The First Noel" in 4/4 time, which sort of gave me a headache, but it's because it's set to the accompaniment of the Pachelbel "Canon." Very pretty.
I followed her down the street, calling her, and then gave up. I started walking home and she was following me, so I went in the back gate, leaving it open. She came in, saw me, and ran out again before I could close the gate.
FINALLY, she got cold and came into the back yard, whereupon I sneaked out through the garage and shut the gate behind her. Then she still wouldn't come in the house (no doubt thinking she would climb the fence again) so I had to entice her in with Charlie's cat food on a dish.
She is now snoozing and is in much disgrace. I am worn out.
I did hear the President is going to appear to take some questions in about an hour. This should be interesting.
In your honor, how about if I post something using the M word ......
