A bright & cheery Good Morning to you all!!!
(I can say that ONLY because I am writing this at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday!!! I figured it was safer to have something in the can, as Chair would say, then to try to wing it at the ungodly hour of whatever hour it is right now.:)
We here in Mozie-land are slowly coming back down to earth after a hectic, fun-filled,busy, tiring, and joyous Christmas. We give thanks to our Creator for the precious gift of His Son and we pray that the peace & joy brought to us by the remembrance of His birth will continue to grow in our hearts and in all of yours.
Mr. ML & I are delighting in the antics of our offspring, all 3 of whom are home from college for winter break.
Boychild #2 is in training for the position of in-home kitchen knife salesman (temporary, college student-type work.) As he left for his interview he looked positively dapper in his (thrift shop) pin-stripe suit, power tie, sneakers and pony tail.
Girlchild was delighted to discover that the UWGB mens basketball team eats all of their meals, during winter break, at the Country Kitchen where she waitresses, via a voucher system worked out with the school. So all of these tall, hunky guys are coming in & ordering LOTS of food. Eye candy and generous tips; what more could a girl ask for??
Boychild #1 is on a health kick and now requires bottled water, unsweetened breakfast cereal, raw vegetables, and a regime of running, weight-lifting, raquetball, etc. Someone remove this POD PERSON from our midst, QUICK!! (His former diet consisted of pizza & Dr. Pepper, and his idea of exercise was..........well, he HAD no idea of exercise....)
Well, Ive bored you enough. I have to admit being a bit out of the loop re: current events so I will trust that those with functioning brain cells will fill us in.
I KNOW what would work (barbed wire, electic fences, mine fields, etc.) but my problem is a solution that doesn't involve massive cash outlays! We have to pay for college tuition and a trip to Europe for my daughter.
Tomorrow, I am going to the pet store to buy a stake and a CHOKE COLLAR!
I have never wanted to use a choke collar, but this dog is going to get killed, or cause someone else to be killed, if I do not get her under control. And I do not want to have to put her down. I couldn't live with that, let me tell you. SO, I am getting a choke collar for control while walking her, and the stake is to attach to a chain while she is in the backyard. She won't like it much, but I really have no alternative right now.
I just want to chain her while she goes to the bathroom. Tonight I rigged her leash like a noose and tied her to my giant Alba rose bush and left her. She finally went to the bathroom, which I had been trying all day without success to get her to do.
Mr. Marple thinks he can fix the area of the fence she favors with more posts, so there would be no climbing possible.
Some free dog, huh?
LOL I can relate, trust me. When we got Minnie (from the pound, cost me $30 total), it was obvious she was a stray because she would always try to run away. One time, when Chaos was in pre-school and my Mom went to put her on the bus, Minnie ran out the door and charged down the street. Holding Chaos' hand, my mother wasn't sure whether to run after her, or stay with Chaos...eventually, she came back, as she knew she got fed very well.
Alas, the poor thing is over 13 yrs old now and couldn't run to the mail box if she tried.
I'll TRY to be on my best behavior and not do like Laz did and post a bunch of half neked women dancing around.
Yesterday's Thread (12/27/01)
.....
And a hearty breakfast, too ..... to help people deal with the shock.
BUMMER............
