America The Right Way (Day 342) [Remember The Trade Center]
Various New Sources & Freepers | 12/28/02 | All Of Us

A bright & cheery “Good Morning” to you all!!!

(I can say that ONLY because I am writing this at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday!!! I figured it was safer to have something “in the can”, as Chair would say, then to try to wing it at the ungodly hour of whatever hour it is right now.:)

We here in Mozie-land are slowly coming back down to earth after a hectic, fun-filled,busy, tiring, and joyous Christmas. We give thanks to our Creator for the precious gift of His Son and we pray that the peace & joy brought to us by the remembrance of His birth will continue to grow in our hearts and in all of yours.

Mr. ML & I are delighting in the antics of our offspring, all 3 of whom are home from college for winter break.

Boychild #2 is in training for the position of in-home kitchen knife salesman (temporary, college student-type work.) As he left for his interview he looked positively dapper in his (thrift shop) pin-stripe suit, “power” tie, sneakers and pony tail.

Girlchild was delighted to discover that the UWGB men’s basketball team eats all of their meals, during winter break, at the Country Kitchen where she waitresses, via a voucher system worked out with the school. So all of these tall, hunky guys are coming in & ordering LOTS of food. Eye candy and generous tips; what more could a girl ask for??

Boychild #1 is on a “health kick” and now requires bottled water, unsweetened breakfast cereal, raw vegetables, and a regime of running, weight-lifting, raquetball, etc. Someone remove this POD PERSON from our midst, QUICK!! (His former diet consisted of pizza & Dr. Pepper, and his idea of exercise was..........well, he HAD no idea of exercise....)

Well, I’ve bored you enough. I have to admit being a bit out of the loop re: current events so I will trust that those with functioning brain cells will fill us in.

Read this A.M. that cold weather kills them, like it is going to get cold down here.

That is good news if true. But, having spent some time in Egypt during the winter, I can attest to the fact it gets pretty doggoned cold there, and in the entire Nile region (colder than we get here actually), so I must admit to a level of skeptisim about this person's claim (Sounds more like a case of CYB BS to me). Besides, if they do die during cold weather (which we do not get in abundance here) why bring these fish here in the first place?!?!?

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

Naw, gonna adopt one of the 'yard' cats. The reason she is around is because I fed them day and night and she was someones house cat before and found a good thing and stayed. She follows me everywhere I go around the yard. Looks good at that.

V coffee, sounds like my daughter, she has every flavor there is and the best is the everyday type, flogers, Max house, and sometimes, chicory coffee.

"My husband very seldom lol, but actually did when GW said the part about the mirror."

That was my favorite line.

I thought he looked rested, strong and determined.

Well friends, the boss came by and asked what I was doing here (i.e. go home so I can too...) so looks like it's time to head for the barn.

Have a great day everyone. Will try to get back here this evening, but am taking Mrs. Rivendell out for seafood tonight so might not make it back until late.

Dog, you can probably find it. the author is David Keys. Are you feeling okay today?

Jane, I would love to stop by the mall & see you, but this is probably not the trip for it.

My husband's parents have been a bit under the weather this month so we're anxious to get there as soon as possible, and meet up with his sister there on her tight schedule.

Another time, for sure!

That's ok...I understand. I hope your in-laws are feeling more the thing when you get there. The restaurant closed suddenly this month, so we would have to pick another place to meet, anyway.

I am back from doing exchanges. I am SO out of the shopping mood! My husband just called and said that we are meeting another couple for dinner. This means that I need to get busy on cleaning, so that I can get myself gussied up later. Ugh.

Not a bad idea and am going to have to put it in my plans as something to do. One thing about it, we got the seafood down here for sure. I like to go to Boomtown Casino as they have the best on the coast as far as I am concerned, buffet style, usuall when I do go, my meal alone cost me about 200 bucks, well eating and playing a little game here and there. The boiled shrimp is the best! They use real gulf shrimp, the rest of the casinos get the frozen ones from Mexico. My company does a lot of work for several of the casinos here.

Howdy! Trust things are going okay for you? I hope so...today was beautiful. My brother and I went out for lunch, and then shopped at little antique stores in downtown.

Whoa....breaking news here in Tampa, M Kehoe!...a tanker truck has overturned and exploded!!!! This is in downtown Tampa right underneath an overpass. Near Veterans and Memorial, Kehoe. Check out Baynews 9. Interesting.

Ok, just back from Lord of the Rings.

The movie gets the Chairman's Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. 3 1/2 stars (out of four). A little ragged on the ending (but the book - The Fellowship of the Ring - was too), but it will get you back for the next piece of the trilogy (The Two Towers).

Lot's of adventure - a few parts may be a bit intense for small kiddies (my ten-year-old said it "was very scary") - and the acting was quite good. Was very faithful to the book.

Would recommend.

OMG - The dreaded Afghan Navy. What are we to do?
