What an incredible year in the life of President Bush. From the highs of inauguration and the passage of the tax cut, to the lows of the China plane incident and Septemeber 11th, these pictures tell all. So sit back and enjoy a year in the life of President Bush. Oh, and be patient! This will take a while!!!

Thank you, again, rintense; I always smile and my heart is warmed when I see our President; at the risk of sounding blasphemous (which I hope I am not), when I see the President with children, I think of our Savior who said: "Suffer the children to come unto me. . . ." The love of God especially shines in our President's eyes when children are near him.

Thank you so much for this best-of series! I didn't learn until late in the game that bookmarking is not good enough, so I appreciate this second look!

Cute story! Did anyone catch the HGTV special on the White House Christmas? I want to know how to get a shot at being one of the volunteers to decorate next year. What a lucky group of people!

Nope - bookmarking doesn't always save the day. Right-clicking however, and saving the image to hard disk or CD, is the way to go! Then you have your own personal archive! Then it's just a matter of finding a place to host some pictures when you feel like sharing them. . . .details details

Yep. Rintense told me about the right click -- but I didn't find out until after months of bookmarking.

Read your Helen Thomas comment last night before I went to bed, and I'm STILL giggling over it. Gets my vote for,"Best Caption of the Year!!"

Thank you. These are a treasure. I am reminded of something Barbara Bush said sometime in September or October. approximately.."...how fortunate we are to have this wise and able man as our President at this time."

Thank you for the posts all year - especially this year end version - Rintense.
Every photo is special and fantastic.
The ones with children and his dogs - show the heart of this man. The ones with his wife, showing clearly his love for her and her love for him, show again what God intended for a husband and wife.
The ones with the troops and those hurt most by Sept 11th - show the mutual love and compassion and respect held by him and for him by those who are hurting - and by those who are doing some "hurting" of the ones who want to kill us all.
There are others we need to show - the one with the lady who lost her husband on 9/11 - bringing the Olympic torch to the White House recently - who then collapsed in tears in his arms. The ones with our President in front of the Congress - going in and going out.
Finally, the one with him speaking at the prayer service at the National Cathedral - giving a talk that, IMHO, was the greatest and most moving of anything he has said and done since Sept. 11th - after which he walked down to his seat and his father reached over and squeezed his arm - and after which there was no applause in that house of worship - but here in my house, there were cheers and tears!!!!
I have these on another computer and will post them later if they have not already been posted to this thread.
God has blessed this country with this man, this President, this Commander in Chief, and with this First Lady.
Thank you, President Bush, for your splendid leadership at this time - and for all who serve this country in your administration.
May God grant you wisdom to lead ever more wisely each day. May God confuse, confound, and collar your enemies and the enemies of this country and your countrymen.
(And to you, dear Ladyinred, thanks again for your thoughts, prayers, and posts! What a tremendous gift is Free Republic where we can "meet" and find friendship and fellowship and fun and the DAILY DOSE!!!!!)

For a long time, I have looked at the daily dose. I think this is my first post. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! Each day's edition throughout the year has been good, but this is incredible. Soon I will have a folder of the entire year also. God bless you and give you a joyous and relaxing vacation, Rintense. Thank you again!

I am so sorry, but I am so behind on packing, that I can't post anymore pics tonight. I'll add more when I get back on January 1st, 2002. I missed this thread on the 26th and just found it in the archives. I hope your trip was fun, rintense, and thank you so much for taking the time to post the wonderful pictures you were able to get! I especially LOVE the ones of Dubya laughing! We haven't seen much of that since 9/11, so it is great to see!
