That was one neat story!! Upon read onthis story, I was in awe to read that after all those years, that buck was back in the hands of the few surviving soldiers. That is a story worth publishing in Readers Digest or Life Magazine. Just amazing!

I would love for those soldiers to sign my dollar bill. Somebody once tipped me a dollar that dates back to 1963. It was a U.S. Note; not a federal reserve note. And it was in red print. I still have it. Amazing what one comes across.

I'd like to nominate Mary Miles for the Freeper Hall of Fame. Her tireless efforts to find these WWII signers is more than commendable.....She has HEART and PERSERVERANCE.
One of my childhood memories is having soldiers in our home every weekend during WWII for homecooked meals and friendship. It was a blessing to our family to have them and to be able to provide these comforts to young men laying down their very lives for us.
This story is a treasure and reinforces my belief that despite the insidious presence of evil, there is also innate goodness in this world.
