To Brian L. Buckley, Winston & Strawn and to whomever else it may concern:I, James C. Robinson, also known on this board and elsewhere as Jim Robinson or JimRob, hereby extend and offer my sincerest apology to our attorney, Brian L. Buckley, also known to this board as Clarity, for any and all statements that I may have made to any employee of the law firm of Winston & Strawn and or to anyone else that may have been construed or seen as defamatory, slanderous or libelous. It was never my intent to defame, slander, libel, belittle, damage or otherwise harm Brian in any way. Specifically, I retract anything I may have said that inferred that I did not authorize Brian to bring suit against Aldridge (aka, eschoir) or that he kept me in the dark regarding the W&S billings. It is obvious to all involved that I did authorize such suit and was personally involved throughout its course.
If is unfortunate that we became involved in a dispute over the Winston & Strawn bill and I would do anything if I could roll that back, but, obviously, that is impossible. I feel that my decision to go forward with the Aldridge lawsuit was a mistake, but I made the final decision myself and I am the one that must accept the consequences. Brian is not at fault for the decision nor is he at fault in my dispute with Winston & Strawn regarding the billing. The final bill was several times the amount I was expecting the suit to cost and so I argued forcefully that it should be reduced, but W&S refused to budge. In the end, I agreed to pay the full amount on a monthly payment plan. Hopefully, this dispute is now fully and completely resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all parties involved.
I am and will always remain extremely grateful for all of Brian's efforts expended on my behalf and on the behalf of Free Republic and our causes. Brian sacrificed three years of his life and many thousands of dollars of his own money and thousands of hours of his time for Free Republic. I loved Brian then for his efforts, and despite our current difficulties, I still do.
Brian, if you can, please accept my sincere apologies. I humbly apologize to you for any grief I may have caused. I wish you nothing but the very best.
Regards,
Jim Robinson
That's good ole' k.U.S.s. for ya. If it's inappropriate or ill-timed, count on him to show up.

You are just amazingly stupid and gullible, Weasel.
In his posted apology to Attorney Buckley, Jim Robinson admitted that he had made some inaccurate statements. And, of course, Anti-Freeping revolves around the steadfast belief that Jim is a habitual liar.
So what makes you so certain that he's telling the truth now?
Let all your Machiavellian cynicism come to the fore -- until now you've just been giggling and tossing water balloons -- and start thinking like an attorney for a change. I know it's been decades since you tried it, but go ahead. Because Robinson and Flyer are way, way ahead of you on that score.
Allow me to ask a few rhetorical questions. Is it better for the FR fundraising over the long haul for the public to believe that FR owes $30,000, or $105,000? And if W&S agreed to slash the bill by two-thirds, wouldn't it be prudent to include a non-disclosure clause in said agreement?
Of course, not being a party to that confidential agreement, I'm just asking questions and guessing, same as you -- but I think I have better sources than yours.
[emphasis mine]
So it seems that FR's own Bryan, the paralegal and Clarity's helper thinks you've negotiated the W&S bill down, but used the $105,000 figure to boost fundraising bucks AND he says he has sources.
What have you got to say for yourself, Bryan, the paralegal?
And JR, I'd say you've got a real problem on your hands, like, with friends like yours, who needs enemies? Was all the keeping of secrets and avoidance of answering a few simple questions worth all this?
This is an odd comment.
I am not Aviator and Aviator is not me.
Though, apparently, you would like to link us in the minds of the uninformed while:
1) taking a cheapshot at me.
2) taking a most undeserved cheapshot at Aviator.
3) seemingly absolving Jim Rob for his abominable treatment of Aviator, because a 2-minute FReeper hate-object like myself is presumed to always deserve any ill-treatment sent my way.
Or, perhaps, you are legitimately confused and actually thought Aviator was me. If so, you wouldn't happen to be the anonymoderator on duty when Aviator received her undeserved booting, would you? That would explain a lot.
Back into the mists I go until the utterance of my name for ill beckons me forth again...

Hey, *I* should know, right?
All you can do is tear down, tear down, tear down. Have you ever constructed anything in your life? If you hate Free Republic, go start another web site and beat us at our own game.
But you can't. Because all you can do is tear down.
I can smell your pathos from here. Try bathing.
Since you are apologizing to the forum, and I am part of the forum, I thank you for your apology. It would be nice if you acknowledged what for, but since we both know what for, let's let that ride.
As I said to you last night privately, "You caught me by surprise today
Jim never for one moment surprised me. The man is chock-full of honor and would have made a wonderful Founding Father, with his honor and his wisdom.
I guess your expression of surprise puts to rest the claims on this thread and in certain poison-filled ratholes of AFholism that you forced JimRob to do anything, eh what? :o)
I for one, bid you return to the forum. Your input into the conversation is valuable. I'm also sending you a private freepmail shortly; be on the lookout for that.
Bathos is the word you wanted (trust me), and would have worked better with the DEVESTATING "try bathing."
Keep trying! One of these days you'll get something right.
