Cabinet members are safe, 300 total locked inside Indian Parliament 100 which are officials.

One of the terrorists got away, drove into Parliment building in Government vehicle-then gunfire and two bombs going off.

Other 4 terrorists presumed dead.

A gunbattle has broken out inside India's parliament complex after an attack by suspected Kashmiri militants.
Paramilitary troops have taken up positions around the complex after reports of two explosions, and the building has been sealed.

Five people are reported to have been killed, including four militants. Five or six gunmen are reported to have been involved in the attack.

The army has been deployed at the scene, but the shooting appears to have ended.

Mrs Gandhi may be inside

Indian Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan told Star News TV that all ministers and lawmakers were safe.

About 300 legislators were in the building at the time of the attack.

As many as 30 people are reported to have been taken to hospital.

The government has ordered that security be stepped up at national assemblies throughout India.

At least 29 people were killed in a recent attack by Kashmir militants on the state assembly building in Srinagar, the capital of Indian-administered Kashmir.

The Jaish-e Mohammad (Army of Mohammad) militant group said it carried out the attack, on 1 October.

Why is it that Fox News hasn't mentioned this terrorist attack a single time between 6:20 and 7:20 and they've had plenty of news updates? They really need to expand their foreign coverage abilities to truly becomet the greatest news network in the nation.

In the second, post-Emergency, period of her Prime Ministership, Indira Gandhi was preoccupied by efforts to resolve the political problems in the state of Punjab. In her attempt to crush the secessionist movement of Sikh militants, led by Jarnail Singh Bindranwale, she ordered an assault upon the holiest Sikh shrine in Amritsar, called the "Golden Temple". It is here that Bindranwale and his armed supporters had holed up, and it is from the Golden Temple that they waged their campaign of terrorism not merely against the Government, but against moderate Sikhs and Hindus. "Operation Bluestar", waged in June 1984, led to the death of Bindranwale, and the Golden Temple was stripped clean of Sikh terrorists; however, the Golden Temple was damaged, and Mrs. Gandhi earned the undying hatred of Sikhs who bitterly resented the desacralization of their sacred space. In November of the same year [1984], Mrs. Gandhi was assassinated, at her residence, by two of her own Sikh bodyguards, who claimed to be avenging the insult heaped upon the Sikh nation.
