As for "taking a chill pill" go back and read what you wrote, then tell me exactly what your definition of "chill" is.

Also, the term "stealing the silverware" is a very, very old one. It doesn't matter if it's directed at Democrats or not. It's a wry slogan signifying innate mistrust between parties who're nevertheless expected to mix socially on occasion.

My mother used to say that her mother-in-law was the type to worry at family gatherings that "someone was going to steal the silver."

I don't know how old you are (though from the tone and content of your posts I might venture a guess), but take it from one who apparently has been around a bit longer than you: This is NOT exactly a FReeper original.

About nine people pointed that out; but don't feel bad, because it was a good catch on your part.

We had spaghetti at our house three times last week.

Dear Laz,

You got the last pair of sources in the wrong order.

Whistler and Wilde were friends, and in a conversation Whisler produced an excellent bon mot and Wilde said, "I wish I'd said that." Whistler replied, "You will, Oscar. You will."

Cheers,

Mine wasn't the stealing of the silverware. It was the pilfering of the furniture. But sacking the sofa was supposed to be hyperbole. I never imagined that she would-- that they would-- in real life-- in real time-- actually swipe the sofa.

"What's the latest info on his indictment? It's been awhile since I've heard anything."

It's all rumor and hearsay at this point, but the unofficial word is that this attempted broadside against AG Ashcroft is either a "shot-accross-the-bow" to tell the DoJ to back off, or else it is the RATS positioning themselves--and attempting to pigeonhole Ashcroft--for an inevitable clash regarding the McAuliffe/Clinton Corruption. Believe me, my FRiend, when I learn more that I can verify, I'll make it well-known via an activist thread, 'cuz Right's gonna need our assistance at the grass-roots!!

"Yikes........"

Ooops, didn't mean to offend anyone...LOL!! Good to see Dubyuh takin' a few subtle licks, ain't it?! I get the impression he's been bitin' back on sayin' a few things he'd like to get off his chest with regards to the PUNK McAuliffe and PUFF Daschle and IddyBiddyDickie Gephardt, but if Dubyuh let loose with a very-appropriate counter-attackin' barrage, each of Dem three losers would wet their trousers and run fer cover!!

I'm confused. Hillary stole Oscar Wilde's silverware? What about the curtains?

FR used the "stolen silverware" schtick for the party theme because . . . the Clintons actually stole the silverware. That's what Bush was referring to, not a theme party by FR or anyone else.

Hope this helps.

Gotta admit, I ain't never heard it used by the member of one political Party to chide the member of another poitical Party in an official State function such as this...have you?! Especially within earshot of the RATS mouthpiece, the Washington ComPost.

"My mother used to say that her mother-in-law was the type to worry at family gatherings that "someone was going to steal the silver." "

LOL!!

"I don't know how old you are...but take it from one who apparently has been around a bit longer than you: This is NOT exactly a FReeper original."

LOL!! Alright, AncientOne...you could also make the case that nothing in this World is "original," not the Gipper's "There you go again..." or Dubyuh's Daddy's "Read my lips..." or whatever. However, with respect to the Clinton/McAuliffe Corruption, I daresay the first time I ever heard it linked with the term, "stealing silverware" was on FreeRepublic.com...do you have evidence to suggest my recollection is faulty, my FRiend?!

"We had spaghetti at our house three times last week."

Does that include leftovers or did y'all actually boil up a new batch each time, including freshly made sauce. If the latter, did you AT LEAST change the recipe or use a different flavor Ragu or Prego?

Inquiring minds wanna know...MUD

Typical sloppy reporting by the Washington Post. What Turkey McAullife said was, " "I have no intention of getting caught again, sir."

I do think Mr. Bush is a breath of fresh air for us conservatives who have been longing for Republican leadership to call the Democras what they are: Liars and thieves.

Mr. Bush's quip was fabulous.

I was just pointing out that his use of it didn't necessarily arise from his lurking on Free Republic. I was asking the guy essentially, "you ARE just joking about that arent' you?" because I've found a curious tendency for many in FReeperdom to believe that the universe revolves around our favorite website.

Just trying to inject a little reality.

Just imagine if Obubba Been Laiden was visiting; W would have to say "And stay away from the twins. They know how to fire a gun."

LOL! Oh, yeah! Your talkin' 'bout this fella:

That's one guy I wish would just keep his trap shut. I don't ever recall an ex-Prez gettin' more publicity. . .
