Who would you guys rank as the five best senators?
To narrow the time frame down....I loved here in November 94 and didn't pay attention to TV until 95....I have satellite and CSPAN and CSPAN 2 are on it. At the latest, it hasn't been since St. George became Prez.
It may have been during the last Congressional two-year session; maybe the one before....as I recall, Bud Schuster was the House Committee Chair/SubChair involved with spending highway trust funds....and they went on a spending spree the likes of which will probably not be seen for another 20 years!
Sorry I can't be any more specific as to time frame
Every single senator that was in office at the time flat out failed to uphold their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
I'm related to a former Detroit mayor. From what I read, he wasn't that good either(and he was a dem). Oh well.
Gramm
Domenici
Inhofe
Santorum
I'd have to say Gramm, Inhofe, Domenici, Kyle, and Bond.
And Ensign shows Great Promise!
Five aren't enough
1. Henry Clay
2. John C. Calhoun 3. Jesse Helms
4. Barry Goldwater
5. Henry Cabot Lodge
6. Richard Nixon
7. Joe McCarthy
8. Strom Thurmond
9. John C. Breckinridge
10. Aaron Burr
Bunning will be a future all-star.
He tries to run the whole show and cuts state-level and local level Republicans off at the knees by cutting deals to keep himself in power. He engineered a token candidate for an incumbent Democrat Governor that could have been beaten because he was weak in his base and will face only token opposition himself next year. Plus, Bunning won't go in lock-step with him, so he's going to sell him out when his re-election comes up in 2004. That's the scuttlebutt about that sell-out. McConnell's message about campaign finance is clouded by the fact that his arranged marriage to Labor Secretary Elaine Chao (who has numerous ties to Red China) makes him an extension of the Communist Chinese Government.
As they say down on the farm: He's as worthless as tits on a boar hog.
I was disappointed he headed the Senatorial Pac (forgot that acronym) and held all those purse strings... He's not heading that pac anymore, right?
This thread is TOO depressing for words.
Bill Frist is the only one who has not irritated me lately.
