'Tax Me More Fund' creates a stir
By Donald Lambro
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
They're chuckling, cheering and chafing in Arkansas these days over Gov.Mike Huckabee's novel idea for raising more taxes: He's inviting taxpayers who want to pay more to do so.
The Republican governor, who appears to be a shoo-in for a second term next year, has set up the "Tax Me More Fund" to give voters who think they are not taxed enough the chance to send more money to the state.
Mr. Huckabee's opponents in the news media and in the state legislature were nearly apoplectic when he announced the creation of the fund, but the governor says he is not fazed.
"I'm having way too much fun," he says....

This message to left-wing liberals is coming from Arkansas.
Can You believe it?
I wonder what other wonderful suggestions he might have for them. They are good at telling the rest of us what to do. Can the governor find a use for the goon squad that goes around protesting everything of which decent people approve. Your suggestions are welcome.

I'm having as much fun as he is, hope the Pubbs take this campaign nationally in answer to the left's call to repeal the tax cut.

This idea has the ring of brilliance to it, since it invites liberals to put their money where their mouth is. If they don't want to pay a cent more for their hare-brained schemes than anyone else does, then they'll be further exposed for being the hypocrites they are.
To: BOBTHENAILER
Agreed the pubblies need to take this baby nationally Bush should propose it. They also need to take the race baiting ads the rats run in minority communities and run them for the rest of us.
Time to fight fire with fire.

Hi Geruse:
Sorry if I offended you. Was that you with the spectacular "FREE MUMIA" sign?
To: Temple Owl
This is old news. The Fund is flush with about $260.00.
I still like the idea. W should suggest this to Daschle, Gephardt, Kennedy, etc.

This ought to be good. Next spring when the pro-income tax crowd gets started, I'll make a "Tax ME More" bucket and stand outside the state capitol and try to solicit funds.
I may even have some forms authorizing a person's employer to take out a specified amout of money from their paycheck and send it to the state treasurer. Something like this:
I, (liberal idiot's name here), have come to the realization that I have far too much money. I further realize that the government is MUCH more able to spend my money wisely than I. Their decisions are ALWAYS for the public good and they rarely waste money on the frivilous. It is aslo my finding that the state doesn't have enough employees sitting on their butts collecting a paycheck. For these and other reasons, I hearby authorize my employer, (employers name here), to with hold the additional amount of $______ or _______% (whichever is greater) from my paycheck and send it directly to the state treasurer. I do not want nor will I seek any type of receipt for the money as I will not file for refund of any overpayments at the end of the year.

I'm having as much fun as he is, hope the Pubbs take this campaign nationally in answer to the left's call to repeal the tax cut. Sheer BRILLIANCE on Huckabee's part, IMO. Let's see all the Tax & Spend liberals put THEIR money where THEIR mouths are. I expect that this fund will grow exponentially (NOT!) with all the liberals who think they're taxed too little, sending in all their money!
It's so simple and so brilliant. Let's see where this "fund" is at in about 30 days or so. LOL!!!~
To: usconservative
YEAH BABY. All that Hollywood money will just pour in. Bill Gates and his father will be pouring it in like water.
To: BOBTHENAILER
YES! The Pubs should definitely take this nationally! Then, whenever they want to cry about tax cuts, the President can tell them to send their precious non-taxed money to the "National Tax Me More Fund." MAKE THEM PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTHS ARE!
They're always yelping about how "we" can't afford a damn tax cut! They CAN pay more (and SHOULD, I say!)
It's all about FREEDOM! We have the freedom to do our fair share, and they have the freedom to send all their money to Washington so they can sleep peacefully at night in their cardboard boxes! (Yeah, right!)
Dubya should definitely make this a cornerstone of his economic recovery legislation, RIGHT ALONGSIDE MY TAX CUT! The the Rats won't be able to whine about "unfair" the tax cut is! This is an idea whose time is NOW!
To: Blood of Tyrants
Beautiful. Simple and easy. NO WIN situation to argue against it. If more taxes are the answer, why, surely the MAINSTREAM American will support the idea and the money will flow like a raging river, and if not, well Mr. Daschle, Mr. Gephardt, Ms. Clintoon, the great American public must not agree with you.
To: billhilly
I can see 'em all chuckling up there now. More likely full bore belly laughs.

The National Tax Me More Fund should also post the contributors names on a daily basis, along with the money they put in. This way, these people get the recognition they deserve for putting their money where their mouths are.
Of course, anonymous contributions should be accepted too, as long as the photograph of the person putting in the cash into the fund is published. The person can wear a hood if they want too, or a disguise.
To: Leto
Couldn't agree more. Light 'em up with this, it cannot be argued against without stepping on their d##ks.
To: Frohickey
When posting the deserving contributors names it will have to be a half page add in whatever publication is chosen, using of course the largest possible type in order to get all TWO contributors' names recognized!!!!
