Just a reminder that Elian turned eight years old today for all of those of you cared for his freedom. I want to wish him a happy birthday despite his circumstances.

I think you are right about the election being the result of Elian's return to Castro. When I saw the many many Cuban Americans lined up to change their registration to Republican I was rather amazed. Seems they too fell for the 'something for nothing' promises of the demonrats. That was a terrible lesson for them.

When Gore lost the election, little Elian came to my mind. I felt that Elian's suffering was not in vain, that his suffering brought us George W. Bush as our President. I will never understand liberals who would allow such a trauma on a little boy. I hope they wake up and make it up to this boy or they can all rot in hell.

I was very embarrassed for my country that day. For me, that's one of the worst things our government has done since I've been alive. 24 years worth.
