So the people who get there first can have the country, right? OK - when are you handing over the USA to Red Indians?

Are you saying that might makes right?

Only Liberals hit the abuse button. It's a PC device demanded of the founder of this site. It's for liberals like you who can't defend themselves. Call 911. Boo Hoo. After the police show up to clean up the mess, the psychologist shows up with the bill.

Israel should kick out all arabs out of west bank and gaza and secure it's border.................
That may be the only way to stop the suicide bombers. And build a wall...a big one.

His descendants will ulimately inherit all of the land promised, not just the small part that is the seat of centention today.

This is half of the little secret, that rarely ever gets mentioned in the U.S. But that is boldly proclaimed in Israel. The second half of that little secret, is exactly what those proclaimed borders are.

Interestingly, reform Jews (aka the most liberal in oh so many ways) do not necessarily face Jerusalem and in fact may have their sanctuaries (temples) set up so the congregation does NOT face east toward Jerusalem (more specifically the Western Wall of the original Temple) while praying.

Not quite - the layout of even the most reform will have the ark containing the Torah facing towards Jerusalem. The congregational seating can be arranged any which way but it is invariably focused towards the ark. In any event many prayers are performed standing and the devout will turn to face the ark at such times regardless of which way their chair may be positioned.

Agreed. And anti-christ make a "peace" treaty that collapses until the Prince of Peace returns to rule. And He, Jesus, doesn't need the UN as peace keepers!

This is the official line, but it doesn't stand up to any historical research.

The Moabite Stone (Mesha Stele) is a bit of a stretch. If we go by the dating of the David in the bible then the stele is dated at least 150-200 years later.

Its a problematic theory in that the word "House" is an unclear reading and of the word David only the D (Dalet) exists. AFAIK most archeologists discount it as there are a number of ways of interpolating words starting with the D that can make sense. Its most likely however that it refers to a placename rather than to the House of David.

There are a number of spurious translations floating around the net but mostly you will find them at bible proponents sites. They are not authentic translations by paleographologists who are a lot more careful in their translations and when they guess what a word might be they indicate it as such.

As for Solomon - I have heard on the grapevine that there are "sources" that might refer to him. I haven't seen anything that fits the description in the Bible. If you know of something other than legends I'd like to hear about it.

Statement 4. The only Arab domination since the conquest in 635 C.E. lasted no more than 22 years.

Your response.... " #4 is of course false, since Palestine was part of the Arab Caliphate, follwed by the Omayyed caliphate, followed by the Abbasid caliphate, followed by the Fatimid caliphate, etc from around 640 to about 1100"

The #4 statement refers to "Arab domination" - domination means who ruled/governed.

Were the Omayyeds, Abbasids and Fatamids Arabs - don't think so. Muslims and pseudo Muslims but not Arab hence the statement is correct.

Not a single statement is, as far as I know, untrue. That being said, the establishment of a state based on western cultural and political norms, inhabited and run by people whose culture (after 1,900 years of diaspora) is largely European, and supported militarily by the west (US) like it's Fort Apache smack in the middle of the Arab part of the old Ottoman Empire was an earth shaking event for the people there.

After occupying a piece of land for around 1,300 years (over 60 generations) people do consider themselves to be the owners, no matter who actually rules the place (Turks, Egyptians, Brits, Jordanians, etc.).

It is a Gordian Knot of a problem which, by default, will probably always be settled by superior force of arms.

It's not really "baloney". It's just a provocative way of pointing out that Jerusalem is the center of the Jewish faith while for Muslims Mecca and the Kaaba serve the same role. If a Muslim were praying from a spot in Poland, he would be facing Jerusalem by default.
