I'm asking the question looking for replies and discourse that (hopefully) can raise above suggesting wiping one side or the other off the face of the earth, locking people up in a police state, or expelling either side from the land they occupy today (where would they go? and how would that really solve the problem other then pushing the problem somewhere else?).
What do you think is a viable long term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and how would one go about making it happen?
As someone who is not of Judeo-Christian-Islamist cultural/religion background, I don't have an religious or idealogical dog in the fight. I have heard and read about the grievences and claims and counter-claims from both sides, while I sympathize, I'll admit that the grievences are not personal to me. I have spent a lot of time in both Israel and Arab nations due to work. I got along and liked the people I came in contact with in Israel and in the Arab states. I think the state of Israel has a right to a secured and peaceful existence, and I think the same for a Palestinian state. But I don't profess to have any idea how this can be realistically accomplished.
from the Wye Memorandum
Half the kids for normal family purposes and the other half to blow themselves up in a shopping mall full of teenagers to earn the family a special place in Paradise.
This is a Palestinian casino, built by the Israelis in the Palestinian Authority so that the "poor oppressed" Palestinians could have jobs and make money.
You're on a roll, boyo. The article is about housing in Beit Shemesh well within the "green line."
See the bad Israelis and their casino.
Oh, it's in Jericho for the benefit of the Arabs and Yasser owns a (large)part.
Never mind. Move to next lie.
This comment bears repeating. and repeating again.
'This thread seems to be the local meeting of the Jews for Genocide. What an embarrassment they are to humanity.'
Thank you for making this point.
All the Palestinian workers have to be removed from Israel proper, and the Israelis have to import Latin Americans or Philippinos for low-cost laborers.
Then after a few generations, the Israelis can help them build casinos. Let rich Arabs from all the Arab counties go to the casinos, and Israel can skim some of the money off the top. That way, the money from the Arab countries can help finance Israel.
If you have any questions, visit some of the US Reservation casinos.
In the US, you have to be a poor, deprived, put-upon, land-stolen-from, Native American, and then you dial 911 in Las Vegas. Someone there will send Casino representatives to you to explain how they will open the Casino and run it for you. All you do then is take the big monthly check they give you, and put it in your bank account. Our U.S. Department of Casinos is located in Las Vegas.
Could I fake it? Can I pretend to be something called a Louisianaterritoryian, a native of the long lost country of Louisiana Territory, which the evil Americans stole. Worked for the "Palestinians".
What you have to do is prove that one of your grandparents was some kind of Indian or another, and then you can legally be admitted to one of the official US tribes. Then you get lots of free stuff from the US tax payers.
I missed my opportunity, and now its too late. When I was a teenager, I learned that one of my past relatives was a Cherokee. Had one of my more recent relatives registered as a Cherokee, an even more recent relative could have registered, and that would have allowed me to register. But now its too late. Im too many generations away from my distant Cherokee ancestor.
That's what we should have done with the dirt from the Panama Canal. :-)
I think the Chitimacha Tribe was the one I did the story on. Now look at the name of the Chairman of the tribe....... Alton LeBlanc! Thats not an Indian name, thats a Cajun name!!
Then, since no one is forcing Israelis or Palestinians to live there, America could wash her hands of the whole thing, which, IMO was a bad idea from the get-go.
I'm tired of taking this theatre of morbidity seriously any longer. Pass the popcorn.
