JimRob can't be expected to police every thread. But the rank, appalling racism of some comments made during the discussion of the Adams Mark lawsuit really is quite beyond the pale. Your thoughts?
As far as comments I have seen regarding having to carry their own bags... get over it! I travel a great deal. I regularly stay in very nice, high priced hotels and the cheapest damn hotel in town. It is RARE that i have had my bags carried for me up to my room. Usually the best treatment I get is they provide me with a cart to put my stuff on and push it myself.
I'm not a fan myself. But when people say this, I just shake my head. People used to say the same thing about jazz and the blues 50 years ago, and now you'll pay $75 to sit in a concert hall and listen to the same music.
There is no comparison and you know it. Please find some 50 year old jazz lyrics that are comparable to the following, and tell me who’s paying $75 to listen to it today.

Well, with conservatives, you get the occasional open racist remark, that's probably true. With liberals, your alternative, you get paternalistic cant designed to distract thought and unvoiced virulent rascism.
At least that's what blacks I've known fairly well over the years have said, or similar remarks. One friend, who'd lived in both the South and the North, commented that "if a Southerner doesn't like black folk (her words), you know it. If a Southerner invites you in through the front dorr, you know she means it. Up North, white folks talk a whole lot about equality and invite you to parties, but send their kids to private school. Smile big at ya and cut you down behind your back."
Where have you been? We've had record crowds for Spring Break here in Panama City Beach for easily the last ten, mybe 15 years and they have increased each year.
Maybe so, but the fact that the researchers published the results of their research makes them racist, and makes the whole facts of the case, racist.
Don't you see it? The media paints us as the victim race, and as a member of the victim race, we can do no wrong. If we want your money and property, you better give it to us, because of the hardships my daddy... err... sperm donor has endured during slavery.

You aren't going to "win converts and win elections" against the professional race baiters. Example: Houston just had an election for Mayor. The incumbent has proven his incompetence and ignorance in many jobs including Mayor of Houston. The winner ran a dishonest racist smear campaign against a decent, competent man who ran his campaign on the issues. Guess who won because 98%-99% of the black vote went for him. Where was the "center" vote in the black community? Do you think the winner may have gotten those votes because of his color?
So blacks are really inferior people who have a low mentality level? Ok.

I'm glad I missed that. I'm sorry to say that I don't doubt it.
However, I'm worried about another undercurrent I'm picking up on. Whenever there's anti-black or anti-Jewish rhetoric on FR, I can count on a vigorous response, but whenever there's anti-Arab or anti-Muslim rhetoric, it often goes unremarked. People who are ordinarily sensitive to bigotry seem to be tone-deaf to it when directed against certain populations.
Perhaps they're just cowed by the loud and angry individuals who equate the hatred of "ragheads" with patriotism. It's a worthless kind of tolerance that is only expressed when it is politically easy.
And those returning soldiers would kick the living sh!t out of the hooligans that frequent these spring breaks for blacks only and slander their own race with their atrocious behavior.
The fact of the matter is, black culture (to the extent such a thing exists) has taken its worst beating in the years since LBJ's Great Society boondogle. Prior to that time, the incidence of black children out of wedlock, divorce, and other key social indicators was far closer to their white countrymen, even while they endured real de jure discrimination in many parts of the country, and explicit socially "acceptable" discrimination in others. Yet black culture during this period produced many of its finest entertainers, scientists, soldiers and businessmen. Black areas of major cities, like Detroit, were vibrant, alive places where black owned businesses thrived and vital neighborhoods provided support to young families and where it was safe to raise children.
Something happened during the 60's and beyond to change that, and it wasn't the "legacy of slavery".

BTW, your comparison of Jazz to gangsta rap, even if only accidental, is despicable. You should withdraw it at once, before I summon the spirit of Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Dizzie Gillispie and the like to smite thy blasphemous behind.
