The only reason we learned about this Mexican plan is that one school in Santa Ana, California, decided to sell the books at a book fair and the local Hispanics kicked up a fuss about it.

Yeah, right. I'm sure Mexico came up with this "plan" involving several million people and the only way we found out about it was through the "fortuitous" discovery of a book at a Santa Ana bookfair. What a load of complete unadulterated horsebleep.

This is an invasion although done indirectly. If you live in N. Dakoata or the likes you probably can not understand the problems the boarder states are having but they will be on your doorstep in the future also. I consider this the biggest problem America faces. I agree with Michael Savage (BOARDERS-LANGUAGE-CULTURE) and it's being ripped out from us. One day just like this terrorist agenda it WILL explode but in our backyards & you will have little defense against it.

Invading?

More accurately, they are colonizing territory they believe is theirs.

Santa Ana, California has turned into a Tijuana, Mexico clone. You won't find many people speaking English there. Mexican flags are flown daily. Drive through there at your own risk, especially at night.

Some Mexicans use the term "reconquista," which is Spanish for reconquest, to describe their desire to see California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas acquired by Mexico and named the new country of Aztlan. They are teaching their youth that the United States "stole" those areas from Mexico and that they should be "returned."

There might still be time to give Kosovo back to its rightful owners BEFORE the UN starts demanding that we hand half of Florida, Texas, and California over to Mexico on this same stupid basis.

Perhaps this is a GOOD thing. If they declare independence, and we have to go in there and kick out or shoot all of the reconquistas, GOOD! We not only elimimate the rabble-rousers, but we can deport all illegal Mexicans, and effectively end the issue of immigration. Dopey W. and all the other "compassionate Conservatives" will finally give up on hispanics and latinos, and we can start building that 50-foot high wall across the border.

If the wall is going to be too much of a problem, line the border with nuclear waste.

I posted this on another thread, but it bears repeating in this one.

Many modern day immigrants are not interested in assimilating or becomeing Americans. Rather they view themselves as colonizers much like the white man was when he came upon these shores and found native Americans. Unlike earlier immigrants for whom coming to America was a one way trip and assimilation not a matter of choice. Today's modern immigrant is simply a cheap plane ticket away from returning to his homeland. From California to the Eastern Shore in 100 years we will be in the same position as the Indians were. It's also simple demographics, they reproduce faster than we do. Americans by and large have a lower reproductive rate than 2.3 children per couple which is what is necessary to merely replace yourself.

You have power hungry, vote hogging democrats and greedy cheap labor big business republicans to thank for our current predicament.

First, I'm not going to go into a detailed rant about the way the USA handles immigration policy. That's a rant for another day.

That said, I think we quickly forget how many decades it takes for an ethnic group to get assimilated. THe reason we've forgotten is because immigration between the 1920s and 1968 virtually ground to a halt, so we tend only to know of families who came to this country and assimilated decades ago or families who have only come very recently. German-Americans started coming here in droves in the mid to late 1800s and had German schools, German neighborhoods, and German churches. This likely would have gone on for a few more decades were it not for WWI which made expressions of German culture "unwise"-- not to mention the decades upon decades it's been since we've seen new communities of German s moving to the USA.

My father's side of the family came here in the early 1950s. His parents never really learned that much English, and at family holidays we still bounce back and forth between languages. English was learned as a second language for all of my cousins. However, now that my cousins have children (the second generation born in the USA-- 30 years after my cousins were born and 50 years after my father and his siblings came to the USA), THEY are the first generation to learn English as a first language-- decades after their grandparents first came to this country as children. You're not going to see fully "assimilated" Mexican families -- or any kind of family -- for at least 50 years after they first arrive here.

The books, written in Spanish and including all academic subjects, teach that America "stole" the southwest from Mexico...

Yeah? Well...uh...OK, we did. We stole it fair and square. And we're keeping it! Thanks for the tacos.

I say, as long as their Christians, the more the merrier. I support our President's efforts to make good Republicans out of them. Come harvest time, we're gonna clean up.

Large groups of people who try to force people that were born here to "coddle and support" their attempts to take over and Balkanize our country should, can, and will be resisted. That said, there are many fine people of Mexican descent - the "keep the language" motivation isn't unique to them - researchers have found that at one time there were 200 German language newspapers in the U.S. As long as there is a constant influx of immigrants speaking the foreign language, it's relatively easy for the hardheads to have their way.
