And with his passing, I feel older.

The thought that comes to mind is a quote from my favorite Samba which I think is particularly appropriate now:
"...and He, who was a poem of tendernous and peace, has left us a boquette of musical roses that we shall never forget".
The original Portuguese:
"E elle, quem era um poema de tenura e pais, fez um boque que nos nao esqueces mais, de rosas musicais"
May his soul find peace.

Try to realise it's all within yourself no-one else
can make you change
And to see you're really only very small,
and life flows on within you and without you.
We were talking - about the love that's gone so cold and the people,
Who gain the world and lose their soul -
they don't know - they can't see - are you one of them?
When you've seen beyond yourself - then you
may find, peace of mind is waiting there -
And the time will come when you see
we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you.

Long, Long, Long...
Damn, I feel so old!
Gonna miss you, George...say hi to Elvis & John for me.

As a longtime guitarist, I'd like to offer up that George was HIGHLY underrated as a six-stringer. No, he wasn't flashy, wasn't "fast", etc...........but his playing had character and, what all guitarists seek,
taste. His slide playing was legendary, and playing slide properly is very, very difficult. Other musicians thorougly enjoyed working with him because he was generous as a musician, always spot-on with whatever part he was asked to play, and brought something special to any song he tackled.
He will be missed, but he truly will live on in the extraordinary catalog of beautiful songs he helped create. God rest his soul and bless his family.

Terrible news. Another success story for Staten Island University Hospital!!

I loved his music. I thought he might pull through. I suppose he would say " Within You Without You".

Woke up this this very sad, foggy, morning, my wife came into the bedroom telling me George Harrison died. We knew it was coming, but it hurt nonetheless. I was such a huge fan of his (have ALL his records, bootlegs, too.) ever since I was a kid in the 60's. What a life he led. Although he died too soon, he had the experiences of a hundred men, so he was lucky.

As a thought for the day from one of George's songs, how about "Isn't It a Pity?" The real pity being that we will all indeed miss a chance for a True Reuninon of the Fab Four, based on their failure to acknowledge Jesus as Lord -- thus missing the chance to join those of us who will be with Him.
Let us pray for Paul and Ringo.
