I was just born when the Beatles came of age with their hit song, I want to hold your hand, whose release was accompanied with their maiden tour of the U.S.
I, like you, had always high hopes that, someday, somehow, someway, their would be reunion, however fleeting.

"I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping,
While my guitar gently weeps."

I remember when I was in highschool a had a friend who had moved here from England. One day we were playing records and she pulled out one from England. It was the Beatles, prior to USA ever hearing of the Beatles. We took the record to the local radio station and they just shined us on. LOL. I am pretty sure the record was "I wanna Hold Her Hand." Later when they became famous in the US my friend and I had a good laugh about trying to discover "The Beatles"! Oh well....Ed Sullivan had to do something I guess!

The Travelling Wilburys. Enjoyed this work with the Willburys and looked forward to more has he entered a later stage of life. But it was not to be. He gave so much and will be missed.

His Bangladesh Concert was the best, imo. I have the set of albums from that concert but nothing to play them on anymore! :(

Must have been a closet Freeper...
"Should 5% appear too small, be grateful I don't take it all!
Cause I'm the tax man, yeah, yeah, I'm the tax man!"
I'm feeling old.

So Sad. If success is measured by the joy & happiness you give people then the Beatles are in a class of their own. I never hear a Beatle song without smiling & suddenly finding myself in a better mood.

I loved, I Want to Hold Your Hand. I remember buying this little 45rpm. They had hits on both sides. All My Loving and And I Love Her. I was amazed they would sell a record with two hits. Didn't make good business sense. My brother said it was because they couldn't make a bad song. How true.

No apologies necessary. Thanks for not accusing me of being sarcastic or flippant. Just seemed very apt.

George wrote these words:
There'll come a time
When all of us must leave here
Then nothing Sister Mary can do
Will keep me here with you
As nothing in this life that I've been trying
Can equal or surpass the art of dying.
God bless you and keep you George Harrison.
You made a difference.

We were talking - about the space between us all And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse the truth - then it's far too late - when they pass away. We were talking - about the love we all could share - when we find it To try our best to hold it there - with our love With our love - we could save the world - if they only knew. Try to realise it's all within yourself no-one else can make you change And to see you're really only very small, and life flows on within you and without you. We were talking - about the love that's gone so cold and the people, Who gain the world and lose their soul - they don't know - they can't see - are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourself - then you may find, peace of mind is waiting there - And the time will come when you see we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you.
We have lost a good man.
