On another board I frequent, someone posted the question "What should we(blacks) do if Hispanics get too far ahead of us?"

It's every race for themselves in some areas.

Even the vehemently pro-Brown Houston Chronicle noted Brown's screw ups:

"One embarrassing moment for Brown came when he was asked about spending $2,900 in city funds for speech lessons. "It was not a speaking lessing," the mayor responded, to laughter from the audience."

I also saw something interesting and disturbing when I was entering the debate. I was in line to present my ticket and gain admission. There were two Brown supporters in Brown t-shirts in front of me.

When the ticket collector took their tickets, she held them under a flashlight and said something to the effect that they were fake. A man standing next to her at the door looked at them and concurred. He then said something about them being forged copies of the real ticket, which was a paper slip, made on a scanner or color copy machine. The tickets were distributed equally between the two campaigns at about 50 per campaign, but being the cheaters they are, the Brown people felt that wasn't enough. The Brown people had apparantly FORGED tickets to get into the debate in order to unfairly stack the audience!

It actually scares me quite a bit. If the Brown campaign is willing to forge tickets in order to gain a small numerical edge in something as trivial as a debate audience, who knows what lengths they'll go to in casting fraudulent ballots!

The erosion of Democrat support from hispanics in Houston could not be more obvious. And Brown has actually sped up the process with his racist campaigning. A campaign sign from brown featuring the words "anti-hispanic" especially struck a sore nerve.

In fact, Brown's negative race baiting campaign tactics were so repulsive that they prompted ultra-liberal Democrat councilman John Castillo, a former Brown ally, to denounce the mayor and switch his endorsement to Sanchez.

Don't feel bad. It was a legitimate question. "Hispanic" is a meaningless term. I accidentally wandered into a meeting of the executive committee of the National Hispanic Leadership Council one morning while looking for some coffee.

They invited me to stay. I did because they had good coffee and rolls.

The whole time I was there all they did was argue about what an Hispanic was.

I once traveled to a remote area of Eastern Turkey that is much like Afganistan. I was surprised to see young children with blond hair and blue eyes. Go figure.

Honey calm down...one..I never "flamed" you. I figured you were not a Houstonian shared some of Orlando's background and stated he had beautiful blue eyes.

YES, I believed when you asked about his eyes, it was due to the graphic posted, and YES he really does have those pretty blue eyes. I live in Houston since 1967, and during Brown's tenure as Police chief under Whitmire’s administration, crime was out of control in Houston. It was the worst crime period in over 34 years, but now Brown is striving to break his old record.

During the debate, Brown proudly mentioned his accomplishments as New York's Chief of Police! It was necessary to run him out of the city, and for Guliani to be elected; in order for the New York police to restore law and order from the chaos left by Brown. New Yorkers are praying that Brown never returns to the Big Apple. On December 1, Brown will be rooted out from Houston for good.

You two didn't exactly flame me, but you seemed to take my question as somehow implied Sanchez is a coverup artist or hiding something. I said nothing of the sort. ANY conservative Republican who can beat Lee Brown is good my book. It doesn't matter if the nominee has blue, green, brown, black, or polka dot colored eyes. It still looks like contacts to me (apprently not), but lots of "anglos" wear contacts to change their brown eyes to blue. SO WHAT? That has nothing to do with their jobs.

Certainly I wish we had some elected "hispanic" Republicans here in Illinois. The lone hispanic congressman here is Luis Guiterrez, a member of Democratic Socialists of America who is more racist than I'll ever be.

Witnesstothefall definitely flamed me and continues to do so. I guess it's taboo or "racist" to bring up ethnic traits. Reminds of the liberals who think it's "racist" if you don't automatically ASSUME every arab immigrat is on your side. It would be nice if people stopped this hoiler-than-thou garbage. We've all steortyped others and have BEEN sterotyped BY others. People are suprised that I'm Catholic AND German-American. They are surprised that most of the Italians on my mother's side have light skin and blond hair.

There are so seems be some confusion about "Spanish" and "Hispanic". People IN Spain are 100% European so I imagine you'd see alot of blue eyes, blond hair, etc. present in that country. However, most American "Hispanics" have SOME ancestry from Spain, but to classify them as European would be a mistake. Hispanics in this hemispere have a great deal of Indian blood and sometimes a little black blood. That's why many hispanics in THIS part of the world don't share the same traits as anglos. Many are dark skinned with brown eyes and black hair. This is NO WAY effects their intelligence, skills, qualifications, or ablities. I've met a ton of brown-skinned hispanics who have professions such as doctors, lawyes, and politicans. . Our family doctor is of mexican ancestry, and certainly doesn't look "white", but he's one of the BEST in the medical field. Like I said, I have a ton of "mixed" ethnic hertiage too (including Italian and Indian), and so do many freepers as I imagine.

Good luck to Sanchez, I'll certainly be looking forward to a conservative winning in one of the largest cities in the America. The last two cases (New York and L.A. mayoral races), freepers have been content with electing the lesser of two evils. Hopefully this will change the trend.

Just finding this thread from last night's debate. Isn't Brown the WORST debater and speaker you have ever witnessed in your entire life? He wreaks incompetency. He also looked shaken and desperate at times. Orlando could have hammered at Brown's NY record (when Lee P once again had to talk about his record of experience), but I think he just let Brown keep making an idiot of himself. Did you hear that a caravan of people are going to go down to Bush airport when Orlando is elected to cheer on changing that hideous sign? It was mentioned on 700 am.

The airport billboard was a monument to the cult of personality in the communist style and just plain idiocy. While the fire department went undermanned, mayor Brown was wasting $500,000 of taxpayers' money on a billboard with his portrait. The debate was devastating for Brown because it showed his incompetence while making a fool of himself. For the good of Houston, I hope Orlando Sanchez wins with a wide margin.

My girlfriend called to say she listened to 102.1 and the racist Jew Don Boney was on there telling people if they were not allowed to vote he had a team of lawyers waiting to hear from them. Theya re giving out a number to call. They were telling people that if they didn't have a license you could bring a light bill. So, if someone shows up that is not registered to vote and is not allowed, they are going to be screaming racism all over the place.
