Good to post alongside you again. I am somewhat puzzled by this JimRob post... which is to say, if FReepers decide the time has come for the FR jig to "be up", JimRob will be the first to know it by the drying up of the donated cash.

If, on the other hand, this thread is merely a more-subtle-than-some-of-the-recent fundraising drives, I applaud the marketing strategy employed.

It gets the message out without the offensive Catholic "donation plate in your face" affrontery, and it plays effectively on peoples' generosity right around Christmastime... always an effective technique.

Jim, perhaps you could require every person banned to pay a 15 buck fine? I do not know how it would be enforced exactly, but that would help to keep people in line and also give some much-needed cash with as many people get banned! Frankly though, it is too bad we don't have 10,000 giving 3 bucks.....

I would have been the most devoted and loyal FReeper here had only my right (and the right of many of my FReeper friends) to express our CONSERVATIVE political views freely been respected and met with fierce counter-argument instead of censorship. But, being a freedom-loving CONSERVATIVE American, I don't take kindly to bullying, abusive cult-like intimidation tactics, and just plain tyranny from any quarter. Finding such behavior here at the web's foremost "conservative" forum was as shocking a discovery as I've ever had to make. It is so incongruent with everything conservatives claim to stand for. And yet, there it is, in all its perverse ugliness right here on FR. I can do nothing else but speak out against it, and be banned for my trouble if need be. I can only wonder why more freedom-loving FReepers don't do the same.

Hi Jim,
I just want to say you have a great idea, and a great website! If money is the problem, come up with a model for making money that allows you to keep it going, i.e. all users pay a monthly, or quarterly, fee, or some other method. This has the advantage of keeping out the riff raff.
The internet is like dealing with the general public, you have lots of good people, and some bad apples. I wouldn't pay attention to the bad apples who harass you, or make false accusations. Just ignore them, your success is evident in your growth. I'm surprised you feel the need to have this thread.
