Jose Feliciano - Feliz Navidad. Oh yeaaaaaahhhh! This one for sure. Actually it's usually the artist more than the song that needs to be retired. :)

It's a hol-ly-jol-ly Christmas. And whatever that one is that's done by Paul McCartney. Yecccch.

How about "The Twelve Days of Christmas" by those Canadian guys? You know, "...my true love gave to me - a beer".

Bwahahahha @ Cheech and Chong.
"Let it snow"...I don't like snow.

I love that one. McKenzie Bros, eh? Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.

"Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time"
Aaaaahhh!!! I can't get that awful song out of my head now!

Ha! I think I listen to a different radio station. How about any Christmas song by Alvin and the Chipmunks?

Have never heard most of the songs on your tired list. But then I mostly listen to talk radio. heh heh

That chipmonk falsetto drove me nuts. Especially since you KNOW it is not really a chipmunk ... but high speed silliness. Now, if it had REALLY been a chipmunk ....

Actually Melissa Etheridge's cover of John and Yoko's Happy Christmas is quite good (despite what one makes of her personal life.)
I remember your post from last year on the good Christmas tunes and agreed with your liking for Mannheim Steamroller, and Loreena Mckennit's Christmas album. I also enjoy the Pogues', "Fairytale of New York," and am somewhat reluctant to admit that Jewel has some decent cuts on her Christmas effort released last year...

John & Yoko - Happy Xmas (War Is Over). BARF...
Slightly off topic, one of my favorite Christmas songs....
AC/DC - Mistress for Christmas.........

That dang carol that has the dogs barking to Jingle Bells. Drives me NUTS! LOL

"A Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives. Yeah, I know what you mean, it is kind of tired. But I like it and give it a few spins each year. How can you hear that song and NOT be in a good mood!
As for that McCartney song, how could I have missed it! I believe the title is "Wonderful Christmastime" and the chorus goes "Simply, having, a wonderful Christmastime" over and over again. McCartney's vocals are awful and there is practically nothing to this song except that repetitive chorus. Obviously this was a throwaway from one of the early "fan club" records that the Beatles used to put out.

It's a vanity alright--but a cute one. At first when I read the title I thought, 'no way, all the songs are fun' but after reading your list I agree with you--ALL except the last one. I still kind of like that one. I guess I don't hear it as much as you do.
