WELLINGTON -- The United States remains the the sexual superpower of the world with Americans making love more often and with more partners than any other nationality, according to a survey by a leading condom manufacturer.

Durex SSL International said on Tuesday that its annual poll of 18,500 people in 28 countries showed the world was having more sex and starting earlier than ever before, and the United States was leading the field in all departments.

Hmmm...what the hell? If I had 14 different partners I sure would have sex 124 times a year. They gotta mean 14 cumulative partners, right? This is not reported very well.

(I'm not sure how much we should make of such celebrity claims anyway. I remember when STING's WIFE was asked about HIS claim to be able to "make love for five hours" she replied, "Ha, five minutes more likely...")

I think you are right. I know a swinger and she has about 45 partners a year, and that is far from ordinary. I think the average American has probably had 10-20 sexual partners in their life by the age of 45, not 10-20 per year.
