Rush Limbaugh's "The Rebirth of American Resolve" (an excerpt)
The Limbaugh Letter ^ | November 2001 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 11/26/2001 10:27:04 PM PST by Mudboy Slim

I've been a long-time subscriber to The Limbaugh Letter and the November 2001 issue had an excellent article called "The Rebirth of American Resolve," of which I will transcribe a short, yet poignant, excerpt...

"Except for travel and mail and whatnot, life in America has pretty much returned to pre-September-11 mode. People are engaging in their daily routines, going to work or school, shopping, participating in all the usual necessary and leisure activities. But bubbling just below the surface, undetected (save for various poll numbers) and misunderstood by the national media, is something enormous. It is quiet, but angry. It is channeled and disciplined, but has the taste and feel of revenge. It is determined and focused, but passionate. There is a word for this new (to us) national character trait: resolve. American resolve is something wonderous to behold. It actually has deep roots in our history, part of the fabric of the nation's almost-lost traditions and past. Many thought we had outgrown it, or had become too sophisticated and jaded and secular and materialistic and blase to ever again express it. To my generation, the Baby Boomers, and to the two generations that followed, Gen X and Gen Y, the mention of "American resolve"--if it was mentioned--brought to mind sepia-toned images of 40s-era war posters or grainy documentary footage of Allied soldiers in Europe. It was a long-forgotten age, the remnants of another nation altogether.

"Then we were attacked."

(The article goes on to explain the resultant unabashed patriotism that is much more Substance than Symbolism, and the Effete Elite's utter disdain for this raw emotional Love of Country, which the HateAmericaFirst Leftists in the Vast, LeftWing Medyuh Whore'd and the DemoncRAT Party LOATHE!!)

Then, the article continued...

"In fact, the elites among us continued to behave as they always had, banning the flag from workplaces, demanding that "God Bless America" be removed from signs. They were stunned at the vociferousness and vehemence of the anger that came back at them. Ordinary Americans, for the first time in my memory, decided to tell the elites to shove it. Without apology or hesitation. I have seen dozens of stories now, where some idiot stood in the way of an American's desire to express his or her love of country. In almost every instance, the idiot has backed down, shaken by the force of will that says, "We put up with your PC nonsense for years. Here's where it stops!!"

Allowing bin Laden to escape Justice would be an unforgivable sin were we to ignore his Murderous anti-American Acts...IMHO, the same goes for William Jefferson Blythe Clinton!!

Exerpt from the Goldburg file:

APOLOGIA CLINTONIA
November 23, 1999

While in Greece this weekend the President was met by protesters denouncing American hegemony, U.S. imperialism and, presumably, the fact that Michael Dukakis won't change his name to something Irish. The mostly Left Wing and Communist protesters turned violent, closing down the streets and setting cars ablaze with Molotov cocktails. Some held sarcastic signs denouncing the American President as the "King of the World."

What did the leader of the free world and the only remaining superpower do in response? What else? He apologized. In comments that were characterized as an apology by newspapers across the world, Bill Clinton begged the pardon of a mob. The only available transgression Clinton could come up with was America's policy of fighting the Cold War first, and fighting for Greek democracy second, 25 years ago.

This is nothing new. Indeed, President Clinton may go down in history as the all-time champion for converting mea culpas into spin. Last year President Clinton launched what many critics called a global apology tour. In country after country, he made America to contrition what France is to surrender. It started in the U.S., where he apologized to the victims of the Tuskegee medical experiments. Then he took it on the road and apologized to Ghana for slavery. Then in Rwanda he apologized for America not doing "enough" to stop the extermination of some 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus. Many thought that the African apology safari was a limited engagement, a sideshow to distract people from the center ring during the Year of the President's Pants. But it became clear last Spring — when he extended the tour to Guatemala — that he was really just working out the kinks of his act. In Guatemala he tried to atone for America's anti-Communist activities down there. Apparently that got him ready for the big European venues, starting with this weekend's Greek gig.

"I've had a long running thread on FR (about five months old now) asking for one person to provide me one shred of evidence that the media is left-wing biased. Nobody has been able to do so."

"The left is more alive than ever."

I agree. All one has to do is look at the public schools, then look at state budgets and see how the tax money is spent. The look at the Federal budget and how the money is spent there. The leftist, communist goal of bankrupting this country financially (and morally) is alive and well.

No argument there, my FRiend; however, my point is that the Forces of Good are gradually--and inevitably--winning over the Hearts and Minds of the American Sheeple. Sure, the Left TOTALLY CONTROLS the Networks and the Universities and the Publik Skewl System and the Federal Bureaucracy and the Washington Compost/NYSlime/LAT Triad of MisInformationPurveyors and, especially, HanoiTed's CNN...but we got Rush and JimRob, and I sincerely like our odds.

"If you truly have indisputable evidence of any of this..."

Sounds familiar. Isn't this what the Taliban said to us when we suggested they hand over bin Laden?

The indisputable evidence is in front of your eyes if you watch the "news". It's in the way they frame stories with a decided favorable slant to the left. Showing b-roll of GWB, then giving 20 seconds for democRAT rebuttal, for instance. Their mission is to shape opinion (and it looks like it's working, in some "cases").

Interested in some enlightening reading? Haven't seen this book yet, but looks like it might be an eye-opener: Yes they are!
