Breaking news out of Goodlettsville: investigators are on the scene at the Iowa Beef Processing plant, after an apparent shooting there Monday morning.
SWAT team members and negotiators have been called in.
Employees arriving at work at the plant on South Cartwright Street were not allowed inside. At 6:15 Monday morning, the Goodlettsville Fire Department called Metro and asked for assistance.
Emergency crews reported that one person had been shot five times, and another victim was possibly still inside the plant. After speaking with Goodlettsville police, we now believe there was only one victim involved.
Employees were evacuated from the building and herded outside into a parking lot, but they were not allowed to leave in their cars.
One victim was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Goodlettsville police set up a road block at the plant gate, allowing no one in or out of the parking lot.
While police are not talking, News 2 has spoke with an employee from the plant who says a man was shot in a locker room inside the plant during shift change, and the gunman was still on the loose on plant property.
Stay tuned to News 2 and WKRN.com for the latest information.

Reminds me of that old video by .38 Special. Back where you belong. The band running through the meat plant.

In the words of Troy McClure, "Don't kid yourself Johnny, if the tables were turned, those cows would kill you and everyone you know."

Not sure what the situation is at this time, will look about and see what I can find. I wonder how many killings take place at work near holidays...have to look into that.

"Employees were evacuated from the building and herded outside into a parking lotSounds like bovine scatology...yet I'm wondering if this is a PETA terrorist cell in action.

What is the Iowa Beef factory surrounded by?
Right, pastures.
And who would want to free the prisoner-cows inside?
Cows.
Res ipsa loquitur.
Cherchez la vache!

PETA/ALF usually do their dirty work under cover of darkness and with lots of spray paint.

Employees were evacuated from the building and herded outside yeah, sick pun. not very punny.

The reporter is going to get an award for working three evils into one story: Guns, violence and beef.

And who would want to free the prisoner-cows inside?
Cows.
If we disarm the cows only farmers will have guns. But some might think that is ok since the farmers only have their best interests in mind.
