As part of the U.S.'s heavy bombardment against Taliban strongholds in Afghanistan, B-52s dropped at least one 500 lb bunker-buster in honor of the late heroine-author Barbara Olson, who was killed in Osama bin Laden's 9/11 kamikaze plane hijackings.
Fellow author and American Enterprise Institute resident scholar Michael Ledeen, who's also a close friend of Olson's husband, Solicitor General Ted Olson, told San Francisco radio host Melanie Morgan this week that the bomb, emblazoned with Olson's name on it, was dropped on Sunday.
Morgan shared news of the Pentagon's tribute to Barbara Olson with the Washington Times on Wednesday, saying, "(This is) the military's way of saying, 'We haven't forgotten you, Barbara.'"
In her book "The Final Days," Olson predicted that ex-President Clinton's pardons of Puerto Rican terrorist bombers in the U.S. would "send a signal" to other terrorists around the world, citing Osama bin Laden by name.
"As many of [Clinton's] cabinet had repeatedly stated, terrorism, both foreign and domestic, was the nation's primary security anxiety," Olson wrote. "Since the end of the Cold War, Soviet aggression had been replaced by a number of particularly venomous threats, from Timothy McVeigh to Osama bin Laden."

There will be a report with photos. It is an awesome scene there. Not at all like Ground Zero in NYC, but just as powerful in it's own way.

It would be great to put the names of all 5000 people who died on at least one bomb each and drop them on the taliban.
By the way I heard Rush mention that her new book was due out soon. It is supposed to be a follow up on her book, "Hell to Pay." I am looking forward to it.
I know that Barbara Olsen was a freeper I would like to know what her screen name was.
To: redheadtoo
Her screen name was BKO...I don't think she posted very often, but many FReepers had met her personally.
Her book is out, and is hard to find.
I had to search all the bookstores in Nothern Sonoma county until I found a copy in the BACK ROOM of one of them ...LOL.

Gosh-I miss Barbara right now-she would have been spectacular with her commentary. I miss her too. What a great American. This post re-kindles my hatred for these evil terrorists. They took many great Americans from us.
I miss you Barbara.

Amazon.com has it.
Also, Human Events is offering a complimentary copy with each subscription. That's how I got mine, by renewing.
Terrific read!

The old addage of not knowing how much you miss something until it's gone certainly applies to my feelings for Barbara Olson. I am still reading "The Final Days", but have to put it down from time to time as I visualize her expressing these same views on Fox.
Such a needless loss!!!
I hope to hell that the bomb with her name on it took out the worst of these murdering lunatics!
To: JeanS
I don't know who was responsible for this, but I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Did you know that "Chicken Kamikaze" was the longest living Kamikaze pilot?

Three cheers for BKO's Bomb!! I hope they heard it coming, I hope they were afraid and I hope they felt it...most of all, I hope all of their virgins look like Hillary.
To: Libloather

BKO and Ted, What two really nice people. Makes me proud to be a Scandi too. Let's Roll!

I agree with you, I like your post.
To: JeanS
I think I'm going to cry again. How incredibly telling how much the Pentagon and the people who knew her loved her.
To: kristinn
Thanks for all you do, kristinn. I just finished reading Barbara's book tonight. I sure wish I could be there also. What a smart and brave lady!

Forget a bomb, I think she deserves a US Navy ship. Granted, I wouldn't name a carrier after her, but maybe a destoyer or even a support ship of some kind would be appropriate.
