By Associated Press November 20, 2001, 9:42 AM EST DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -- A man dashing across a lake on a customized personal watercraft at about 55 mph was killed in an apparent collision with a flying duck. Leon Resnick, an employee of Riva Yamaha, was testing the water jet-propelled craft Thursday on a lake about 20 miles north of Fort Lauderdale, investigators said Monday. A co-worker who was watching turned to pick up a radar gun to check Resnick's speed, and when he turned back Resnick was no longer aboard the craft. Resnick, 31, of Hollywood, died of a ...

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (Reuters) - A Florida man died after a duck hit him in the head, knocking him off a personal watercraft and into a lake, sheriff's officials said on Monday. Leon Resnick, 31, was driving the watercraft at a lake in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Deerfield Beach on Thursday, while a friend watched from shore, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The friend turned to get a radar gun to check the vessel's speed, then noticed Resnick was missing from the craft. He found him several minutes later in the water, pulled him ...

I guess now people will need to pass the "bird strike test" before being granted a license to operate high-speed watercraft.

"Our theory is that the bird was airborne and clocked him in the head," said David Bamdas, an owner of the dealership.

I suppose all the Bushies out there are going to ignore this obvious NTSB COVERUP of the truth. There's nothing in this article about how the duck's body was found closer to the scene of the accident than several feathers. Why would the duck hit the water first? And there's no sign of any of the man's hair on the duck's body. Everyone knows that when you plow into a duck at 55 mph some of your hairs are going to get stuck in its feathers. And weren't there several witnesses who saw an explosion on the right side of the duck before the alleged impact? Naturally, the FBI has the only videotape of the scene and they aren't releasing it. You all know why. Maybe they were afraid that we'd see Janet Reno and John Ashcroft having a secret meeting with Henry Kissinger and Jimmy Carter in a boat nearby, hmmmm?

Just one more "accident" that we will never know the full story on.

Shalom.

Who cares about the dude, how is the duck, it might be an endangered species, and therefore this man's estate is liable for the cost of finding the ducks family and raising it and letting it into the wild.

This was murder most fowl!! Just think of the environmental impact due to the loss of that duck in the gene pool!! /sarcasm off

At the speed Resnick was traveling, the 10- to 15-pound duck "might as well have been a cinder block,"

-----------------------------

A 10 to 15 lb duck? - Lotsa goosies don't even get that big.

However, having once been hit in the forehead by a .15 ounce bee at 55 on me motorcycle, I can testify that I "might as well been been hit by a rat turd."

Did anyone ask the Duck why he didn't like the boater ? I mean, what could the boater have done to make the duck like him better ? It is so important to be liked
