A Real Bible Study for Born Again Christians
ACP ^

Posted on 11/19/2001 7:32:45 AM PST by Alas

Are you a Born Again Christian? Would you like to really study the Word of God?

For those who would like to do a Bible study on line, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, word by word, starting with Genesis 1:1 and going through Revelation 22:21, here is one real opportunity.

Have you ever studied the Bible? I'm not talking about just reading it, I am talking about really studying it. Well if you haven't, this may be the time fro you to do it. Have you ever thought about starting either a Bible study or house church? What held you back? Was it that you were not sure where to start or how to prepare sermons for your house church? Well the answers to both of those lie within the 66 books of the Bible. But, you're not likely to find those answers by just reading, but I assure you, you will find them by studying ever word.

Now, let me ask you one more question. Can you think of a better way to study the Bible than by going over ever word within it, from the "In" in verse one chapter one of Genesis to the "Amen" in verse 22 of chapter 21 of the book of Revelation?

Here is your opportunity to do just that. I am going through the Bible, starting with Genesis and by the time we are done, all the way through the Book of Revelation. God willing. I will be using the King James Version and this is what I am doing.

Every word attributed directly to God the Father will be in bold purple, like this: 18. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; Genesis 2:18

Each verse number will be in smaller type font, such as the 18 in the verse above.

The words of God the Son, Jesus are used, they will be in bold red print, like this: 15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

The words of satan, will be in a sickly non bold green like this: 3. And the devil said unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:3&4

When a pronoun such as he or him or his is used and it refers to God the Son, God the Father or God the Holy Ghost, the h will be capitalized. As in the verse from the book of Mark above, " And He said " in the original KJV it is written as " And he said ".

At times, it is hard to keep up with the pronouns, trying to understand just who the he is can be difficult, so, occasionally there will be a name in italics within parenthesis to identify the he. Like this: 4. Being made so much better than the angels, as He (Jesus) hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5. For unto which of the angels said He (God) at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten Thee? And again, I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?

6. And again, when He (God) bringeth in the first begotten into the world, He saith, And let all the angels of God worship Him.

7. And of the angels He saith, Who maketh His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire. Hebrews 1:5-7

As I finish each chapter, it will be placed on the net. It will also be available to any and all who want it as an email attachment in either Word Perfect 6 or above and Word 6 and above. The Bible is designed to downloaded giving any and all a free bible. The way I'm setting mine up is by printing a page, placing it in a loose leaf notebook and putting a blank page opposite it for notes.

Now, where do you come in? Well, first and foremost I would ask for your prayers. And second, I would like you to compare it to the original and see if you can find any mistakes, regardless of the size, a misspelled word, a word attributed to the wrong person, an 'h' that went uncapitalized, anything. Anything you see that you even suspect might be wrong, I want to hear about. How do you do that? Well, you and your study group if you have one, go through what I have done and what is in the 1611 King James Version and compare and study. Looking for anything I may have done wrong or made the least little mistake at. Keeping this in mind, I really mean to have no mistakes, for it is written, 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Revelation 21:18&19. By your doing that, you will be of indispensable help to me and will at the same time be, not just reading the Bible, but studying it as well. Now as in the verses above, you will at times find that even in the red letter editions of the KJV there will be times when they do not have words in red and I will. Those you must read especially carefully.

You will find the Bible here: This link will take you to the index for the Bible.

One last thing, before proof reading, always go down on your knees and ask the Lords help. For it is His book we are doing and it will, God willing, be here for those who are left behind. Left behind at a time when it will become impossible to buy a KJV.

Absolutley not.

Absolutely yes. Tell me where in the KJV one can find the following books: Tobit, Baruch, Judith, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus (Sirach), 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, seven chapters of the Book of Esther, 66 verses of the third chapter of Daniel, called the Song of the Three Children, and the thirteenth and fourteenth chapters of Daniel which were discarded by the Reformers? Had Luther gotten his way, even more of Sacred Scripture would have been deleted; as but one example he referred to The Epistle of Saint James as "... an epistle of straw, with no character of the gospel in it."

Apocalypse 22:19 "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book."

With the number of people we expect to have looking over every word written, and with all using the same version, the KJV, we should end up with one great, yet easy to read bible.

God willing. For it is in the hands of Yeshua.

The church we attend studies the Bible verse by verse..precept upon precept. It's the only way to truly study the Bible, imho. <><

Hey, thank you.
My personal favorite is New KJV, but I also enjoy KJV, NIV, The Good News, and even The Living Bible sometimes.
Oh, Amazing Grace...

Are you writing another version of the Bible? Not that it matters to me that much, I am just curious. The post I am replying to makes it sound like it.

You might memtion this study to your pastor, it is a great way for new Christians to get involved in a bible study, and with him available to answer questions that arise.

But please tell him to ask them not to comment except to him, our pastor is going to be very busy reading what well gounded Christians are saying. Already one small error has been corrected.

God has blessed you to have such a pastor.

Are you writing another version of the Bible?

No, only using color and paragraphs to make the KJV a bit easier along with a few other things, check it out and I think you'll see what Pastor is doing.

Better yet, since you are the heretic you provide me with all of Christ's quotes of Sacred Scripture in the New Testament.

Absolutley not. Read the last few verses of Revelatin 22 to see why.

I'm curious -- and I'm not trying to incite a flame-war here, but I'm wondering why the final verses of the book of Revelation are taken to apply to the entirety of the Bible. The New Testament of the Bible was assembled from various independent preexisting writings; it was not a single work created all at once. Shouldn't the final verse of Revelation only apply to the book of Revelation, since it was written as an individual piece and there were no real comprehensive scriptures known to the author outside of the Torah at the time?

I took his reference to abridged as meaning on of the new shortened versions of the bible, like the one put out by Readers Digest. In those, all of the books, including the Book of Revelation have been both edited and shortened.

What is taking this poster so long with coming up with a definition of the word heretic? BTW, good one on that Galileo, lol.

I think if 10% of the people who make religious claims would spend more time practicing what they purport to believe in, and less time preaching, the world would be a much happier place. And believe me, that definitely goes for me too.
