Well, I guess that you can try the NRA web site for a start.

Serach your states website. The laws affecting you are different than the ones affecting me in Ct.

The laws vary from state to state, and even within states. Talk to a local dealer. Most are very helpful, even if you haven't traded with with them them yet.

There exists, I believe, a book containing the gun laws of all 50 states.

Sorry, I can recall neither title nor author.

Cnn.com has a site of gun laws,by state and shows if permits are required, if concealed carry is permited and another good site is the NRA. Now the big question. Why a luger.

Try www.nra.org

The NRA site has a section on state and federal gun laws, but I think you'll have to check on local laws yourself.

State Laws. Don't know how up-to-date this is. A couple of years ago, someone on usenet said it was dated. OTOH, ATF may have fixed that.

A 9mm Lugar is a very small version of the former Republican senator from Indiana, first name Richard.

A 9mm Luger is a pistol.

Just thought you'd like to know. ;-)

While we on the subject of guns, anyone know where and how in WI I can get a shotgun stock shortened, what the price range is, etc.? It's a compact model as it is (13" stock 20 ga.) but the "length of pull" is still probably an inch too long and I'm having to struggle unnaturally with it. This is not good, as I understand.

Good for you!! Like the post above said, the book with all the laws from the 50 states is good(don't remember the name either) You can order it out of the NRA magazine. However, I think it is intended for travelers and is not specific for all municipalities. We took a trip across country this summer, if I had chosen to be legal we would have been stopping at every state border to put it in the glove box, or move it to the trunk, make it visible, seperate the gun and the ammo, and so on!!

Depending on the state you live in, if you are currently in posession of that pistol, you might be in deep sh!t right now.

Can you say, "Fire... Aim... Ready?"

Jeeez!

Sell the weapon before you hurt yourself, or get thrown in jail.
