someone who is, for instance, a felon, or Mafia person, or drug peddler."

Well, I'm shocked. Not only do they discriminate against abortion doctors, but also against perfectly nice felons, Mafiosa, and dopers. Why on earth wouldn't they want to embrace them? Don't they think that these people have feelings too? (/bitter sarcasm)

Listen, you flaming bigot, Falwell did not claim that 9/11 was America’s fault; unlike Bill Clinton who blamed it on America’s history of slavery and abuse of Indians.
so much for ad hominem attacks, eh moneyrunner...

searched the web for the exchange I referenced in my original post...you're right, he doesn't blame America, he indicates that certain portions of the population (read Americans) bear some of the burden....

JERRY FALWELL: And I agree totally with you that the Lord has protected us so wonderfully these 225 years. And since 1812, this is the first time that we've been attacked on our soil and by far the worst results. And I fear, as Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, said yesterday, that this is only the beginning. And with biological warfare available to these monsters - the Husseins, the Bin Ladens, the Arafats - what we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be miniscule if, in fact - if, in fact - God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve. PAT ROBERTSON: Jerry, that's my feeling. I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven't even begun to see what they can do to the major population. JERRY FALWELL: The ACLU's got to take a lot of blame for this. PAT ROBERTSON: Well, yes. JERRY FALWELL: And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way - all of them who have tried to secularize America - I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen." PAT ROBERTSON: Well, I totally concur, and the problem is we have adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government. And so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do. And, the top people, of course, is the court system.
exactly what part of his "I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen." are you misunderstanding.

and no moneyrunner, I don't dislike it here (and I lurked for several months before registering to post FYI re your reference to Nov 14), so I'll probably stick around

and what words did I write that paint me as a flaming bigot? I did not and do not think that Falwell should be equated with the Taliban - the Taliban aren't inconsequential

It would not be the first time abortion is treated as if it were a national sacrament by the SCOTUS.

No doubt Rodriquez is a card-carrying member of the ACLU and the DNC. He's a self-serving whiner, who practices murder NOT medicine. "First do no harm..."

Maybe they don't like Latinos.

No they don't like serial murders. I understand they wouldn't have let Adolph Eichmann in either.

Prospective members must secure sponsors and be able to pay the fees -- it is $20,000 initiation for the full, golf membership -- but after that, they are usually admitted.

I wonder how many dead babies it will take to pay the entrance fee for his two boys

Actually, since it's the Northeast, he can do whatever he wants. Excommunicate, excommunicate...that's the only thing that will take care of this. But priests and bishops are too cowardly to take a stand.

The fact that Rodriguez hid behind being Hispanic was a particularly cynical touch. I'm sure most of the children he has killed were also Hispanic. Or black.

He should take the $20K he saved on initiation fees and build his boys a pool in the back yard.

I'd bet huge bucks this guy already has a pool. These abortion doctors make more money than you can imagine. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy's got over $20 million in the bank. Really, I'm not kidding, the money they rake in is phenomenal. This guy has more than enough money to buy some land and build his own club. But he won't. Don't want to lose that victim status, ya know.

I was not suggesting that I thought that the club was discriminating against him based on his race. It seems as though they are keeping him out based on their dislike of his occupation.

I was merely questioning why it is illegal for a private club to discriminate based on race, sex, or religion. A private club should be allowed to choose its members based on any criteria it wishes...including such un-PC criteria as race, etc.

Doesn't he know that abortion doctors are looked down upon by members of the medical community, doctors take an oath to do no harm. Abortionists do a lot of harm to the babies and to the mothers. Women become sterile, bleed to death, come down with infections, and have their insides perforated. Not nice.

Another Excommunicated Catholic, I think. I don't know the canon law uses the word "procure" He does accomplish the abortion.

Anyway, he is a scumbag and probably can't take proper care of women who want babies.

He is a discredit to his family, Religion, and ethnic background. Not only is a catholic doctor not allowed to perform abortions he is also not allowed to provide birth-control to his catholic patients.

”Can't say I always agree with jerry Falwell, but equating him with the Taliban?!!? Isn't that just about the most nasty slam they could do on Falwell? I'm extremely surprisedanyone at FreeRepublic would even think about coming to Falwell's defense...remember, he is no better than the handwringers who claimed it's America's fault the 9-11 happened - except for that oh-so-sincere retraction when he figured out how effen stupid it came across - he's no better than any of the other pols (he ain't no religous leader) who speak out of both sides of their mouths”

Post #83” I did not and do not think that Falwell should be equated with the Taliban”

Trying to wriggle out of your original smear, wanker?

And, yes, your posts so far identify you as a flaming bigot. Ad homonym attacks? Consider it a statement of fact.

I predict that you will shrug of my analysis of your character. Someone less shallow may take the next day to reach within themselves, do a little self analysis, and try to determine why their expressions are perceived as bigoted by others.

Mr. Rodriguez -- I can't call a baby killer, doctor -- repent of your ways and give up profiting from abortions.

Dedicate your life and skills to be a desperately needed obstetrian. The hours might be longer. The pay might be lower. The malpractice insurance might be higher. But you will eventually become a loved and respected member of the community.

In the meantime, way to go Warwick Country Club.

No matter what the Supreme Court says, there are some who think of this guy as being on the same level as a felon, or Mafia person, or drug peddler. This guy who has grown rich on blood money.

Abortion of a club membership is a personal decision. We must respect and honor a club's right to choose.

LOL

"I know I'm a Catholic, and it wouldn't have bothered me to vote for him if I was on the board, and I thought he was otherwise a good citizen," said Noel, in an interview from his home in Florida. "The Supreme Court has said that abortion is legal, and we should all follow the Supreme Court and not our partucualr religious convictions."

We wouldn't be hearing these bone headed statements if our bishops were doing their duty to teach and preach. Compare the comments above to these comments by former president of the Nat'l Catholic Conf of Bishops (NCCB) Bishop Donald Troutman:

"I have a lot of respect for him, but we differ on one issue." Ridge is welcome to celebrate Mass and participate in church sacraments, says Trautman. "These events are highly personal matters between the governor and God," says the bishop.

Troutman was referring to Ridge's pro-abort voting record. Former PA Gov Ridge, now direktor of Homeland Sekurity, had a 100% pro-abort voting record as a US Congressman.
