What's the point of having a club, if you can't keep someone out?

Hooray for the club!
Now if we could just get our own Catholic Church to act as uprightly as this Country Club, wouldn't that be great, she said wistfully...

Nixon said that during his 20 years at the club, he has only seen two or three applicants get rejected. "It would have to be a pretty important reason . . . someone who is, for instance, a felon, or Mafia person, or drug peddler."
Uh, what about a murderer?
To: LarryLied
Why would this scumbag want to belong to an organization that didn't even want him??

Pablo will really be crying when he dies and is turned away from that clubhouse in the sky.

"I don't play golf or particularly have a lot of time to drink martinis by the bar, but my children are growing up 500 yards from the club, and all their friends are members...""We want what the Joneses have..." or, "We're doing it for the children..."
""I would go through the whole rigmarole," he said, "then quit."
Then why bother joining???? This guy needs to get over it already...

"Pablo Rodriguez, a prominent Rhode Island doctor..."...er...at BEST, maybe "prominent Herr Doktor"
...more accurately, "proficient baby murderer and moral slouch"
I'd want him nowhere near my kids.

I heard Hitler had the same problem with the Masons.

Dear Dr. xxxxxx, Due to the national emergency we have decided to immediately deploy you with special forces operating in Afghanistan where you can save the lives of seriously wounded Afghan civilians, rather than your former trade.
BTW, watch your Ps and Qs while in country and only save lives.

"I know I'm a Catholic, and it wouldn't have bothered me to vote for him if I was on the board, and I thought he was otherwise a good citizen," said Noel, in an interview from his home in Florida. "The Supreme Court has said that abortion is legal, and we should all follow the Supreme Court and not our partucualr religious convictions." Where do we begin?
No, you're a Catholic-in-name-only.
Other than tearing unborn children limb-from-limb, he's not a bad guy.
We should follow the Supreme Court, and not our religious convictions. Obviously this guy's Catholicism is skin deep! Sheesh.

What a ridiculous tempest in a teapot. It's a PRIVATE club, guy, which means they can keep you out for good reason, bad reason, or no reason at all.
To: Nitro
exactly!! besides, who in the world would want to be in a club where you are clearly not welcome?? if he has all the money that comes with being a Dr., why doesn't he just buy a couple of acres out of town, build a big house and put in his own golf course, tennis court and pool for his kids and then he will have the power to determine to gets to play at his private club?? Why in the world these crybabies want to force their way in somewhere they aren't wanted is beyond me.
To: LarryLied
"private clubs are not allowed to discriminate based on gender, race, or religion"
Why is this? If its a private club, shouldn't it be up to the club members as to what criteria they use for membership? Is this federal law, or RI state law?
To: LarryLied
"I would go through the whole rigmarole," he said, "then quit." What is it about FREEDOM that people just can't deal with?? This guy makes his living from ENDING LIFE in a FREE SOCIETY, and yet he doesn't have the personal responsibility to recognize that people are REPULSED by his own choices??
Hey dude... buy a vowel, get a clue, or just...
GO AWAY - we accept VISA and Mastercard, NOT vermin!!

I suspect the old conservatives may think dues paid with abortion fees may be hard to take. The leftist elites do not mind stashing money like that at all. One buck is like another to them. I am surprised the Catholic Church accepts his donations if he does attend church. There is no understanding the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Kennedy Catholics. I grew up there and marvel at their ability to separate Kennedy votes from the church beliefs. I have a cousin that supports the Democratic Party completely while reading for the mass each week. Go figure

The club isn't discriminating against the doctor based on gender, race, or religion. The law doesn't say a private club can't discriminate based on profession. He's SOL. He doesn't count when it comes to discrimination. Course, once he gets the ACLU on his case, it'll end up at the Supreme Court. The only thing this quack has in his favor is having an Hispanic surname.
To: LarryLied
Obviously, the club feels that if you are willing to rip an unborn child from its mother's womb, you wouldn't hesitate to shave a few strokes from your scorecard.
