As someone who also calls himself libertarian I have one question- Why?
There is nothing incompatible with religion and libertarianism. Darwin was a religious man, does this, in your view mean that his theory is incorrect? Einstein was also a religious person. I guess that means he was just a foaming at the mouth Jew? Come on, you're giving the rest of us a bad name. Maybe in the future you should give it a few minutes before you post.
Better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt, eh?
Boy, Richard, that is dead-on. Some of us have been praying for an exposure of the leftists who so control the reporting of events, and it would appear that those prayers are being answered both left and right....(ie McCain, billy kristol, etc.)
The author misses a major point in the article, though. The liberal "feel good" message has a purpose, control. Everything that the elite left says or does is aimed at control of the masses. It is much easier to appeal to the emotions, than it is to appeal to the logic of the masses. Logic is anathema to the left.
If you look at some of the causes that the left embraces you can easily see that their true purpose is control and that environmentalism, women's rights (abortion), animal rights, social welfare are merely the tools. The left creates emotional hysteria to convince the weak (minded) that they are the victims of a selfish society gone wrong, that they must pass legislation to control those stronger elements of society which are moving ahead and leaving them behind.
The left has devised an ingenious plan to secure power. They are using all the emotional issues that they can engender to force the population into the cities where they can be more easily controlled and where the elections can be more easily controlled as well, thus ensuring themselves of a lengthy tenure.
AMEN! I am glad -- relieved, in fact -- to see the battle is now more (though of course not completely) overt. Anyone who does not see, CHOOSES not to see, what is at stake now is shown for what he is. The real nightmare that we here have shared has been the willful ignorance of the liberals and godless over the past __ years.
BUMP for your post, Cw, we do not forget. It still hurts.
BUMP
The left is blind eye to reality and gullible-fishy---hooked on its own bias...fun to play with!
Libertarian_4_eva, regarding your statement, "He had me untill I got to. They ignore the one true God, who has revealed himself and his son, Jesus Christ,. Now he is another christian fundie foaming at the mouth".
I am surprised the beginning did not also bother you:
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Proverbs 14:12
God inspired that proverb, I think, precisely out of love for people who have your self-sufficient view; and also out of love for people, like me, who if God had not saved and helped, could have easily walked the same way leading unto spiritual death.
It the author really foaming at the mouth in this article? Hardly. Do you think that he is faking and is insincere in the belief that he expresses? If so, perhaps it would qualify as foaming at the mouth. But if he really believes what he says, then how could you respect him if he wrote his opinion dishonestly? It's his premise that you disagree with, that God exists and that Jesus is God and that people are supposed to let Him be their God.
I would be real surprised to hear that you believe, as do Christians, that Jesus is God. Anyone who based their life on something you don't believe must be crazy, and should not be listened to. And I believe that you do not like the way that many Christians act, and that you wish that you did not have to deal with Christianity or Christians.
I won't speculate on why you have such views. But I will say this: Libertarians should not be afraid to look for the Truth, and if they find it, to grab onto it and run with it. How hard have you really looked? As 'libertarians' are to 'liberals', so are 'activist Christians' to 'activist non-believers'. We see "The Big Lie" thrown our way all the time, we see the "at the man" attacks, the distortions, and the constant attempts to paint us as somehow less than human "foaming at the mouth" creatures. And we see people unable to face what to us are obvious truths. "Feeling over fact...Historical ignorance...Cause and effect." It is completely transparent to us. And we are flabbergasted at such unbelieving narrow-mindedness, until God reminds us that without His grace through Jesus, we would be no different and also would not believe. When you cannot accept a premise, anyone living a life based on that premise will appear to be a fool, so it does not surprise me that you think Christian Fundamentalists foam at the mouth.
So to Christian readers, the end of the article came naturally and smoothly along, and we in fact, because of the logic in the first part of the article, were already thinking it:
"But there is one final reason [why the left is almost always wrong]: They ignore the one true God, who has revealed himself and his son, Jesus Christ, and explained the workings of his Holy Spirit through the historical record contained in the Bible. Since God is by definition all knowing, all powerful and all present, we cannot understand our past, our present or our future without understanding what He has said about us and Himself. Western civilization is based upon this record, contained in the Bible."
I wish you the very, very best.
