Why does every incident that takes place draw the attention of freaks? If you follow the logic of some people, there has never been an accident, ever! What are they suggesting this time? A UFO? A shootdown? Bigfoot?

Well, we are experiencing an horrific meteor shower.

Oh wait! That only happens at night doesn't it?

After the crash, we were told by the government "experts" that it was mechanical, one engine coming apart due to stress from full power at takeoff (trotted out immediate "bad" history for this engine), causing it to separate from the wing damage the wing enough so the plane would be uncontrollable, thus plunging into the ground.....

This was why one engine was separate of the crash....so they said.... Then the other engine was found at a different location....the government explanation then went a flock of birds were ingested causing one engine to fail causing the plane to violently rotate which caused the good engine to fling off the wing......

Oops! initial engine inspection showed no damage from either uncontained failure or bird ingestion....

Then were told that the pilot dumped his fuel into the bay knowing there was a problem and hoped to circle to land......The voice recorder proved that wrong.....Also, the Airbus300 doesn't have fuel dump capability.

Then the tail and part of a wing was found in the bay, looking cleanly sheared.....(explains the fuel in the bay)

Now were being told wake turbulence from the preceding departing jet was the cause, even though separation was an additional 20 seconds that day......

Wake turbulence can be a factor in landings when the plane is close to the ground but will not cause a Airbus 300 to breakapart in flight.....

Gee, all the baggage matched didn't it???? Although I didn't notice a lot of terrorist getting out of the planes on 9/11 either.....

If the word bomb is mentioned the stockmarket nosedives, several thousand airline employees lose their jobs and the airline/tourist industry will come completely apart.....Possibly plunging the US into a deep recession and the world into a depression......

The pressure on our government is enormous to limit the damage.....Does it matter whether a public proclamation is made?

The passengers are still dead, the same government resources would be committed........A little lie wouldn't hurt would it? Especially since people are so receptive to believe it.....

Yeah, and the trade towers came down because a spider got tangled in his web and kicked too hard against the building.

You know what? I'm getting really tired of experts such as yourself insinuating that anyone who questions the latest NTSB/CNN "most probable cause of crash" theories is a tin-foil hat wearing, Yeti chasing, Whack job conspiracy theorist.

The first thing we heard from these folks, in the face of many eyewitness reports that the plane blew up in midair, was that "terrorism is not suspected". Next we hear that since there is no evidence of terrorism, there's no need to investigate the matter as anything more than an accident. "Uncontained engine failure" we were told. This is why the eyewitnesses saw an explosion and the plane wing and fuselage in flames before it folded up and fell to the ground. Not terrorists, you tinfoilers! People questioned how such a failure could rip the plane apart. "It certainly could rip the plane apart!" the experts such as yourself re-assured. But there are no penetrations of the cowling around the engine. Uncontained failure is ruled out.

OK then, how about a goose? It was obviously a goose strike or something similar that caused the engines to fall off. A goose will not usually rip a plane apart, but hey, it sometimes happens. Anyone who thinks this was some kind of terrorist act is a kook! A goose is a much more likely explanation. But there's no evidence of geese or engine failure.

Ok then, how about a "wake" from a plane that took off 2m 20s earlier? Those wakes are quite vicious. Strong swirling winds from a preceding takeoff must have ripped the beautiful though extremely delicate Airbus into chunks. 2m 20s is an unreasonably long period of time for the wake to have propagated?

Ok then, the Airbus must have caught up to the plane that was ahead of it. Not that such an event would have turned up on the control tower radar. See, even CNN agrees, 2m 20s has now become 1m 30s and a catch-up!

Once the wake theory is discounted, perhaps NSTB/CNN will tell us that some heavy baggage must have shifted, or that an unusually large bug hit the windshield, causing the exact type of vibration needed to disintegrate the airframe kingpin that keeps the plane from blowing up.

People do not like being taken for fools. Given that crashing planes full of people and fuel has featured prominently in terrorist activities in the last few years, and since the U.S. is under attack by terrorists, and since everyone has been beseeched again and again to be on the highest possible permanent state of alert it might seem logical to suspect and investigate this as a deliberate act. That's just plain nutty hey Paul? Why don't we have an inquiry into Bigfoot... idiot.

Actually from an industry that has been telling us for years that flying on an airplane is safer than taking a bath at home... and considering the events of 9/11... I would have to say that the people like you who are jumping to the conclusion that this was an accident are the FREAKS around here!

If you follow the logic of some people (like yourself), there has never been a terrorist, ever!

It would seem that the press finds the most idiotic people to interview. But perhaps before the sky started crashing down on their heads they were more rational beings.

Can't blame those who have just lived through the horror they have in NY for being terrified that this is another attack. I cannot imagine what it must be like to lose friends neighbors and loved ones in the WTC attacks, and then have a huge airbus fall all over your neighborhood.
These people have been through so much, my heart goes out to them.
