Flight 587 Delayed due to Security?

Fox news is reporting that the flight was delayed 74 minutes due to security (not Mechanical) problems.....

Media and or govt better be prepared to prove it wasnt terrorism. And what of the security delay..? Isnt that strange when they report a news story and then later it is yanked or altered..?

This happens a lot especially with Fox News. I was reluctant to post it at all, but I felt it should be documented here on FR. That way if it never gets another minute from the media at least people knew that is was being reported

74 minutes, the big IF, if there was a timed bomb on the plane that much time would have put it over water I think, oh well, IF is the big disclaimer

So are we to now believe that terrorists will only bomb a plane if they can kill more then the 200+ people on the plane? What about the suicide bombers that only kill a small amount of people in a Pizza Hut? Shouls we no longer worry about those types? Will terrorists only strike if they know they can take out thousands instead of hundreds? I doubt it.

I don't doubt it. Due to increased baggage checks many flights are delayed. I've heard that some flights out of BWI are delayed for up to 4 hours because of the increased security checking of baggage before it can be put on the aircraft.

Where did I say I doubted the level of security. Come to think of it though I do doubt that as well. Wasn't it just a week and a half ago that a guy almost got on a plane with A STUN GUN? Are they now scanning bags that are not carry ons?

There is a FReeper I was posting with after the event called "Tennessee_Bob", it seems he is an ex-Air Force type who worked on fighter jets and he has an excellent grasp of what is and isn't possible with jet aircraft.

As for myself, the story coming out now is that it was falling apart from the time it left the ground and from my Navy(non-jet related) service that just plain old shouldn't be possible. The tail stabilizer drop-off has me stymied since now it is being reported that it happened prior to the engine drop-offs, something is most definitely not right here.

Get with "Tennessee_Bob" he can give you some good info!!

Well, for whatever it is worth, here is my take on it...

They managed to stop a panic among the sheeple who just listen to the headlines, andd don't think for themselves... check that box off...

Today, they let out a little bit of doubt, so those of us who are a tad suspicious feel somewhat mollified... check that box off...

Tomorrow, a bit more doubt is expressed, to keep the extra suspicious calm in the streets... another box checked...

After Thanksgiving, when the holiday flights have all been taken, and I pray real hard here, none have been taken down, they will let whatever they think is the truth out...

You know what I think we should do? Radical, but that is because I am upset and mad at the way this has been handled...

I think we should boycott the airlines, planes, certain airports, etc... until they do something better than they are doing now to tell us the truth, and put better safety measures in, and I don't want to hear any nonsense about "how long the lines are going to be"...

I'm fed up, and don't want to hear any more crap from that woman heading up the NTSB who acts like a skinny version of Hillary!

I agree with your idea of a show of disgust, but crippling the airline business would likely make things even worse. It seems that power can lift you above the consequences that ordinary citizens must face!

Although as you mention, if we could shun one major airport for a week or so that would show TPTB (the powers that be) that we are serious.

I agree with that...The tin-foilers would actually have us believe the gov't spin on this crash and accept the "accident" theory....For that one, an aluminum man-hole cover may not be enough protection...
