Your response I think mixes up two issues. One pertains to the nature of law. Everyone lives by law (standards on moral right and wrong). The question in every civilization is whose law will a majority follow? Western civilization up until the last century agreed Biblical law was it. (English law stems from the first law code of King Alfred, which in turn begins with the 10 commandments.) Can you really say the atheistic law code has been a sucess given this century's implementation record of Nazi Germany and the Communist states of USSR and China?

The second issue is the relationship between church and state, or who determines the content of the law; who enforces it. The Reformation answered this question in a way which I think created the freest society in history (see REX LEX by Rutherford, written as a refutation of the divine right of kings) and its implementation in colonial America. I recommend to you NEVER BEFORE IN HISTORY by Amos. Also see the web page, "American Colonists Library" which traces the intellectual development of our Constitution.

Thanks, wjeanw, I'll take you up on the reading list. Never let it be said that my education stopped when I left school.

P.S. You eloquently put what I basically was trying to say, Thanks again.

"Actually remind me more of Mormonism

That is one of the most ignorant statements I've seen lately.

However, my hackles get raised when the call for how to live my life is dictated by some fundamentalist teetering on the far right edge of the political spectrum. I equate those as the same as the anarchists teetering on the left edge. I like this country the way it is. I live my life as I see fit. I practice my religion as I want and I do not wear it on my sleeve. Nor do I force-feed it to all within shouting distance.

Actually, it sounds like you and I are very much the same in many ways. But you missed my point. The loud, high profile fundamentalist Christian publically berating society for sin (Falwell, Robertson, etc.) are not the enemy. They won't kill you or try to conquer you to change this country. The Islamicists will. They believe in conversion by force, ultimately by your death.

Sorry if I wan't clear, but Islam does remind me more of Mormonism than of Scientology. IMO, all three are based on fake 'scripture', although both LDS and Islam recognize the Bible. Also IMO, I think both Smith and Mohammed were delusional (it's thought that Mohammed may have been epileptic), but I don't think they were rip-off artists like L. Ron Hubbard. Finally, both Mormonism and Islam respect and honor family life, wereas Hubbardism disdains it.

I don't think CHOICE is part of Islam. Once they get control, its OR ELSE. That's why you will have trouble finding a First Methodist Church of Bagdad.

Deport the Muslims! America is committing national suicide by allowing mass immigration of Muslims, Mexicans, Africans and others who goal is to strip us of our culture, religion, history and traditions.
Shut down immigration now!

"By the year 2020, we should have an American Muslim president of the United States."

Over our dead bodies only! (which is obviously the plan some of them have)
This is will never happen.

"What needs to happen is that for evangelical Christian churches to take the lead. While inviting Muslim leaders to fellowship and "share about Islam," they should in turn "share about the Gospel.""

Christian churches are too busy trying to be pc to share the gospel. They invite Islamic Clergy to preach to them. And they try to show themselves understanding and loving. We are asleep, and we are blind.

"They're gonna conquer America? Right. Them and the donkeys they rode in on. I don't see that happening."

They are after the young people. Think of the next generation. Think of how the young are being taught to be considerate and understanding of other cultures and religions. Think of the brainwashing going on in our schools.

"What the mullahs are really afraid of is that their young people may decide they prefer to worship Britney Spears, "

Careful, now. A case is being made for the Islamics in this statement.

"If they belive in the Jihad and are american citizens then I consider this to be a treasonous act. DEPORT THEM!"

Just try to get the Bushes to listen to you. You would have to break them away from the Islamic prayer sessions.

This is as bad as the muslims, convert the infidels, why can't everyone just leave everyone else alone and agree to let them believe what they want, this is what this country was based on.

You believe in the constitution foremost, and when you do, then what does it matter if you are a christian, a muslim, a buddhist, a hindu, a Wiccan, or whatever?

This country is based on freedom, first and foremost. If you do not believe in that freedom, AKA: convert the infidels, be you Muslim Christian or Et al, then you ought to get the heck out of here, because you obviously do not believe in the constitution. You can prostletize, don't get me wrong, but to say that you HAVE to be this, or HAVE to be that, well sorry, it's unamerican!!!
