I figured one of these days they would figure out a way to count'em in a way that made Gore the winner. I just didn't think it would take this long.

The media has spoken, Bush must resign. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, President Bush is HARDLY illegitimate. he WON the election.
All of these "votes" mean nothing. They are ILLEGAL under Florida law. That is the reason they weren't counted in the first place.
This is liberal grandstanding and demagoguery. They are pi$$ed at the President's popularity, and are trying to "replant" the seeds of illegitimacy.
only the extreme left (read demoflops)will lend any credence to this horseflop.

The liberal media is going to have a field day tomorrow. What makes the media think that they were qualified to count any votes? Nobody asked them to. They just couldn't stand Bush winning could they. And they hate it even more that he is more popular than ever now. Well hopefully after a week of their stupid polling that they are undoubtedly going to do they will find out that the American people don't really give a dam!

GET OVER IT! YOU CAN'T HAVE A RECOUNT THAT TAKES TEN MONTHS. IT WAS A CLOSE CALL AND BUSH WON.
To: jern
Undervotes are illegal ballots.
Overvotes are illegal ballots.
Goodness, you mean if all illegal ballots were counted for Gore instead of for Bush, that the Democrats would have won?! How typically criminal.
Wonder if the disputed military ballots will even get a mention tomorrow?

The gore team over played its hand when it both ate into the time allotted for contesting the election (remember safe harbor?) and when it asked only to count the undervotes.

You're right. No one could come up with a legitimate tally. The dems. came up with--"... all the scenarios for counting all undervotes and overvotes statewide,...". Makes you wonder about what kind of "scenarios" and how many they came up with..

December 9th 1941,
Exclusive to the Washington Post.
Sunday's Japanese aircraft carrier sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, destroyed much of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, including 8 battleships.
In other news, the just concluded hand recount of spoiled ballots in Florida, shows that Wendell L. Willkie actually received more votes than Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Critics say that Roosevelt now lacks the authority to lead the Nation at war, and that yesterday's "Day of Imfamy" speech is now null and void.

Democratic Underworld is exploding with joy. They never once consider re-counting any other part of the country. Those people are so narrowly focused, it makes me ashamed I used to be registered as a Dem (light-years ago, or so it feels right now!). This is a non-story but it will last a few days. I am writing to all the news media now, asking why they don't question Philly, Detriot, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, absentees, everywhere, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Oregon...Hell, why not the entire country?! Under-votes, over-votes, suspect numbers, thrown-out ballots...that's the story of U.S. elections in every county & state! In every election, and the 2000 one maybe more that most.

This is about as meaningful as counting the votes of people who didn't vote.

To all those Democrats who sneered at people protesting the actions of Bill Clinton for eight years, this story helps even the score. Get over it! Who cares! Its just about petty jealousy on the Dem's part. Bwahaaaa! Seriously, I wonder how many votes...throughout the U.S. was illegally cast for Gore in that election? THAT we will never know.
To: jern
What a lot of hooey.
What does it really say, if true, other than a higher quantity of stupid people attempted to vote for Gore (and failed
because they couldn't follow basic instructions) than did smart voters who could follow instructions
and chose to vote for PRESIDENT Bush?
How earthshattering.
To: jern
None of these votes are counted in any state in the union. And how do you decide that an overvote is for Algore? Maybe it was for the other candidate? This is such a pack of lies.
More from Matt:
Bush would have narrowly prevailed in the partial recounts sought by Gore, but Gore could have "reversed the outcome -- by the barest of margins -- had he pursued and gained a complete statewide recount," according to one interpretation of the database complied by the media consortium. [Each media outlet will produce a news anylasis based on the database product.]

My spin is:
they (big media) say, we should have kept mr clinton in office for the year it took to beat the Bushes for enought votes to beat Bush.
To: KQQL
"according to one interpretation of the database "
And therein lies the rub....
