He was absolutely compelling .. awesome ... strong ... and committed. This, too, is an historic speech that will go down in the annals of great political leadership and statesmanship. These people are the very people who needed this unflinching message, and they got it! Whether they heed it or not will determine their destiny.
I LOVE PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH!!!!!!! ..... I'm a proud BushBabe, CheneyChick and RummyHunny ........ don't forget Cheney speaks tonite at the Marine Ball ... I know MSNBC is covering it.

RATS!! I hope someone posts a transcript of his speech. We are going to a family birthday dinner and won't be home!
I hate missing Cheney speeches. He usually has a couple really good lines.

I really believe that there is much more going on here that isn't readily obvious. There is every possibility that Dubya may actually attempt to co-opt the UN. In the same way he has generally conducted his political machinations. By seeming to acquiese to opposition demands and still gettting the results he wants through dogged determination. He is a very crafty politician and is always underestimated. The UN may turn out to be a bunch of
useful idiots before all is said and done.
I may be wrong but, there seems to be a pattern developing with this President. Talk about interesting times, eh?!?

Hey tweedledumb - what color is the sky in the world you live in? Go find a country or planet that caters to morons. Here's a message for ya:
MESSAGE TO BOZO
GOOD BYE!
To: RobFromGa
Some nations want to play their part in the fight against terror but tell us they lack the means to enforce their laws and control their borders. We stand ready to help. Goody!
Arabs are crossing the Mexican frontier DAILY and neither Bush nor Congress are doing anything to stop it. When they passed the Patriot Act, closing our southern border was conspicuously missing.
Now can we please control our own borders? The militia can do it. The army and the border patrol can't.
To: Twodees
So, why don't you tell us what he said.
Excuse me, I was assuming that everyone here could read a transcript. Unless we're to discount what's written there, everything he said appears in the transcript heading this thread.
Excuse me, but you rejected somebody's summary of what Bush was saying. You called the summary incorrect. Then I asked you to tell me -- in your own words -- what the message was. Get it?
To: RobFromGa
That was great! I saw his speech and was again impressed with his delivery of it and what he said in it. He covered all the bases. Great speech and his sincerity and the way he said it with conviction. Awesome! They all know this President means it.
To: bushfamfan
Can someone tell me what country was offered a seat in the UN that Bush was referring too?
I am so glad he gets right to the punch....can you imagine Klinton ever being so straight forward without kissing a$$?

Whack!Big-time "Whack" is right!
This act of terrorism was far reaching and touched people on an international scale. It effected many people from different nationalities and of different racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds. The UN representatives would rather look the other way and hope some barbaric murdering terrorist, won't choose to attack their homeland next. Dream on idiots!

I assume you have retired. It need not be permanent but you are wrong here. There is such a thing known as "diplo-speak" or diplomatic language.
Diplomacy has been defined as saying "Nice doggie" while reaching for a large rock - or was it a large stick? No matter.
In diplomacy, if something is expressed in a straight-forward fashion with no other possible interpretations then its the equivalent of punching the guy in the nose and spitting on him before he gets up.
President Bush delivered a message today. He is not from Mars. We are not from Mars. He didn't say "We all need to get along." He said you're with us or you're with the terrorists. Choose your side. And stop playing games like putting the Sudan on the Human Rights Commisssion while excluding the USA from their historic seat.
Fun and games are over. This is war. Time to break things and kill our enemies. Get it? Good.
To: RobFromGa
"We did not ask for this mission, yet there is honor in history's call. We have a chance the write the story or our times, a story of courage defeating cruelty and light overcoming darkness. This calling is worthy of any life and worthy of every nation. One of the best lines in any speech in recent memory. This man is just incredible. The speech should be printed in toto in every major newspaper and read in every class room.

Looks like I will get a chance to see it in 45 minutes, but the transcript says enough already. George W. Bush has guts, and guts are exactly what are needed right now. He could have made the basic point without mentioning the Human Rights Commission. But he had another point, at this particular moment the UN has no moral authority with us. The President knows where he is going and if the UN wants to lift itself up fine, but not required for his plans.
Let me just add, I was not an early Bush supporter back a million years ago during the primaries. But I saw him at a campaign rally and fell in love. He had enormous charisma and a unique ability to understand the longings after 8 years of Clinton. From that day on I have said that he was a sleeping giant, though I could have never imagined these times. He has yet to let me down.

Sudan.
Slavery is common. They're trying to institute "Sharia" - Islamic law in the north - then they'll take it to the south. I think they've offed some million plus Christians and "animists". Same as the Taliban and Osama Bin Flattened. (I hope).
