I'm sorry about this, but I have to state quite honestly that I think the title of this thread is unfair and misleading.

The truth is that liberals are allowed to use churches (Protestant, and unfortunately, in some cases, Catholic) with impunity. If the congregation is predominantly black, all the better.

Conservatives -- Catholic or Protestant -- who try to do the same thing are immediately threatened with the loss of their tax-exempt status, and are accused of undermining the "separation of Church and State" [sic].

Ben Franklin once said, "Either we all hang together, or we will most certainly all hang separately." Believing Catholics and conservative Protestants have more in common than they do in division. We need each other to win, guys. The Protestant side can do their part to keep us from hanging separately by not calling Catholics "idolaters" and the Pope the "anti-Christ" ... I think we all know the litany by now. But the Catholic side also ought to refrain from tarring conservative Protestants with the wrongs done by liberals who also claim the name "Protestant". Is William Donohue right when he says there's "anti-Catholicism" behind this? Sure he is -- the secular, liberal kind of anti-Catholicism, not the kind Martin Luther would endorse. I mean the kind of anti-Catholicism that blames the Church for opposing abortion, asserting that sex belongs in marriage, and that women and men aren't interchangeable. Those are all things, mutatis mutandis, that conservative Protestants can agree on as well.

Really, its okay because Liberals are all atheists anyway. The "black" "church" thing is just for the hoi poloi. To decieve and enslave as many as possible.

Just ask any of the survivors of Jonestown.

Its not like most of these "churches" are anything other than make-believe anyway.

Some "Reverend" who bought his theology degree from a diploma mill, a used organ, and a tamborine do not a Christian make. Neither does the Prayer of Jabez and thinking of Jesus as a sugar daddy in whom the sole purpose of believing is to get a car, out of financial debt, and pay off the mortgage.

A big whatever from me.

Catholics are despised by most Christians in America. OF course, they insult us and tell us what idolaters and Mary-Worshippers we are "out of Christian love." Whatever. Pissing on other people's beliefs seems to get some people off on this board.

Most catholics have traditionally been liberals and have voted against conservative protestants. Its pretty clear from the tone of this article that they are still voting against protestants.

Eh? Catholics vote roughly 50-50 for both parties generally, and practicing Catholics vote Republican about 60-40 these days.

America is not Massachusetts.

"You ought to see that this is actually anti-Christian animus that is exacerbated by the latent and long-standing anti-Catholicism of this nation. (Try reading a few Supreme Court opinions from 1850's to the 1950's in which the Justices all spew undeniable anti-catholic filth from the bench)."

As more true Catholics get online and become more enlightened to the historical perspective regarding the underlying anti-Catholic prejudices of the chattering classes ruling this country, we will see Catholic voters continue their gradual shift towards supporting more pro-life AND conservative politicians rather than those bozos who claim to be Catholics but in reality are merely scumbag liberal heretics. Without certain shifts by Catholic voters towards Bush in the last presidential election, the other WASP candidate (ALwhore) would have won instead.

While some catholics seem to be more conservative these days, I personally don't trust it a great deal. It matters a great deal more what your relationship with the King of Kings is than if you confess that you are conservative. The fruit of the one with effect the other. See the picture of the pope kissing a copy of the Koran in the above thread as an example.

Stop being an ass. First, I don't like your "subtle" implication that Catholics somehow don't have a relationship with the King of Kings (geez, go read Matthew, specifically the part where Jesus founded our Church). Second, while you're bringing out the Pope kissing the Koran stuff, why don't you go for broke and cite CuttingEdge.org and talk about the Pope receiving the Mark of Shiva (hint: both of these events were not what they seem, unless you're a bigot looking for trouble).

“What’s driving this is a curious admixture of racism and anti-Catholicism. Quite simply, there are no standards for blacks and a double standard for Catholics. The best thing that could happen would be if a black Catholic church were to hold a fundraiser for a political hopeful and then see what happens. That would really throw a monkey wrench into the process.”

(Either part of the quote can stand alone too)
SAYS IT ALL!

You've insulted me,

Nope.
threatened me,

WHAT!?!?! When was this!?!?

called me an ass,

If the shoe fits.

a bigot looking for trouble

Yep.

and now 'I sound like a paranoid person.'

If you think I'm threatening you, its just another sign of your paranoia. Additionally, you seem unable to trust us Catholics, since we apparently vote as a bloc, and are somehow running some secret stealth campaign pretending to be conservatives. Why would we do that? I dunno. But my guess is you'll say something like a) to make even more gobs of money or b) to get into power so we can burn witches and persecute other Christians.

PS - I want to see the quotation of the "threat" I made. If you're going to accuse me of sinister behavior, I want to see the proof.
