Kinsey, who died prematurely of disease associated with excessive masturbation... And wasn't it Clintoon's first appointed Surgeon General Joclyn (sp?) Elders who was pulling for teaching this to our kids?? What kind of a "doctor" is she?? /sarcasm ;-)

Thanks for sharing your humble opinion; I appreciate it. If you felt like you would have missed out, then that is how you felt. Can't argue with that.
But....you know what I hate? The idea that one must have lots of relationships to properly prepare for and appreciate marriage to the right "one". My personal opinion is that that's just a lie. The make-up, break-up casual sex attitude in this society has done nothing but condition us to the idea that sexual relationships aren't permanent. My husband has been my first and only lover, after marriage--not before--and I didn't need a comparison list of ten previous lovers to know that he was tender, considerate...... passionate. He exhibited all those qualities before we were married. Why wouldn't our sex life sizzle after we were married?

Why don't you two meet after school on the playground? sakic is a little squealer, hed hit the abuse button before the last bell.

Lol!

I can't. My mommy said that I have to go to band practice. Why do you want to fight against F16s? What did they ever do to you?

The idea that one must have lots of relationships to properly prepare for and appreciate marriage...
Ouch - hope I never said this, especially not the "must". Me thinks that everyone needs to find his or her own path, and the correct path may well look very different for different people. And there is an obvious gender difference here: Women are more inclined to go for commitment, while men usually need more time to get around to it. Whether this is a biological difference or conditioning or whatever else I don't know, but my experience and observations make me think that it is correct.
Again this should not be read as applying to every woman or every man, but as a broad statement about averages. Here's an interesting observation which I think backs up what I've been talking about: On a different discussion here on FR a few months ago someone put up some statistics showing that divorce rates are highest in the Bible Belt states, and by a pretty high margin.
The freeper who posted this was trying to make a point about fundamentalist Christians all being hypocrites, but that's not my interpretation of this statistical finding. The other statistic that needs to be taken into account is that the average marriage age in these States is much lower than in the rest of the country. Given their beliefs, folks there seem to be marrying early, going right away for the commitment path. The fact that a scary number of them gets divorced a few years later tells me that it might have been better if they had taken things a wee bit less serious for a few years.
I got married at the ripe age of 31, and have now been happily married for 12 years. Had I actually married the first woman I thought I was seriously in love with, I would have gotten married about ten years earlier, and I would have been a disaster. Ok, enough of that, I really appreciate your thoughtful replies....

And I appreciate your thoughtful replies, as well.
And the statistics in the bible belt are terrible, but I think a lot of that is a cultural thing. Early marriages not necessarily based on the good book. Where I grew up, there wasn't anything to do but get married. :( However, one of the highest markers for a future divorce is cohabitation, so what does that really tell you about the whole issue? Just that it's complicated.

Actually all you guys laughing at the excessive masturbation causing death part, having some relatives in the medical field, I remember being told about the case of a man who almost died that way. He lived, but was castrated by his vaccuum cleaner. There was also a true story of a factory worker who used an indistrial buffer. Well, one of his testicles got caught in a pulley, and he managed to make it to the hospital.

Is there any way to get to a link to the bump list when we come to the Free Republic home page?
To: Sirloin
You are kidding yourself if you think your enjoyment of porn is healthy. It may make you feel better about looking at nude pictures of someone else's daughter in order to get sexually excited if your wife does it too but two wrongs don't make a right. The "womans movement" thought thats what women had to do, engage in raunchy behavior just like some men and it will "liberate" you. Well it did'nt work.

Not that I'm aware of. You can however access the bump list and then save that page in your "Favorites" that way you can go back by using your favorites menu. You may have Free Republic in your favorites just add the bump list and you're all set. Providing someone bumps the article to the list you will see it.

Are they mistreating you again? When is America going to become a free country where you can decide with whom you wish to associate with? Homosexuals and their supporters belong in prison. Their IQ's are too low to execute them.
