Fantastic speech by our wonderful President. Yes, I was in tears at the last comments: "Let's Roll!" - and, I do believe, President Bush was a bit emotional himself......did you see that?

He is so genuine, so real, so full of "true grit" - every American who was listening I hope took heart and determination to find ways to help. His task force will, I hope, involve people who know how to get it done - down at the local level! Let's all get in there and roll!

Of course, HLL - he should have had you up there with him showing what "rolling" is all about with your Care package shipments!!!

By the way - is there a link to the very best list of what we can/should send in the Christmas boxes to you? (I understand the Christmas stockings....can we buy these if we don't sew?? Is there something special you want for these or can we just find some - maybe patriotic ones?)...and.or some from North Carolina again.

Okay then, that settles it. I will at least get one for me and will recommend my teacher get one for his students due to the tremendously cheap price. I really love my govt. teacher. He is big on making the Constitution apply to our lives, so having our own copy would really appeal to him I think.

GW is the sexiest pol, but Laura has stolen the hearts of the media. Today's Washington Post, Ann Gerhart (of all people) writes a "love letter" to Laura Bush. There can be no other description of her reaction to yesterday's speech:

She was relaxed, warm, funny and generous in describing her own emotions these days. She even got in a few zingers. Asked in a give-and-take after her 30-minute prepared remarks if she might consider writing a book, she said it would depend on "whether or not I can get that $8 million advance or whatever it is," a reference to the colossal money haul that Hillary Rodham Clinton received for her memoir. Her audience rocked with shocked laughter.

Then she revealed that she does have literary aspirations: She wants to write one of "the little hard baby cardboard books that you read to babies and babies chew on."

...Her hour-long performance wowed even her toughest observers, the White House press corps, members of which later phoned Mrs. Bush's office to offer their praise, said her press secretary, Noelia Rodriguez.

These two are hitting it out of the park!

I'm so glad you said that. I know it sounds hokey, but I do believe that God sent George W. Bush to lead this nation out of it's immoral (amoral?) tendencies.

Now don't laugh, but I believe Bill Clinton is the devil...sent to tempt us into abandoning the harder virtues in favor of selfish pursuits like sex, money and fame. I had one way of describing how horrified I was at Bill Clinton's world: Better to be called a slut than to be thought of as "the morality police" (aka old-fashioned...eeek!). THAT was the world of Clinton/Gore.

Then God sent George W. Bush, who spoke out loud the name of his personal Savior...and the congnizatti gasped! He said he was a unifier... and they threw stones. We almost turned away the Lord's prophet...but He pulled us through by the skin of our teeth. And now the entire populace can see why God sent this man to us. God knew that our country had abandoned the well of virtues we would need to draw on in times of peril, so he sent us a man (and woman) who so exemplified those virtues that, when needed, we would have their example to follow. Even the Bible doesn't usually provide that kind of clarity of the Lord's intentions.
