Grampa, I agree with you completely. Americans are hated by muslims in most countries. Johnny(abdul) went to country full of muslims who hate other muslims of different ethnic tribes. These tribes dont tend to like outsiders, I presume and especially caucasians from America. I wonder who from our country vouched for him. Not only that but I wonder were his parents aware of his traitorous activities(Im sure) and also did they support his activities. Who paid for his food in these countries. Pakistan and Afghanistan have many remote villages and clans. Did Johnny(abdul) walk along the countryside for years knocknig on doors looking for the right mullah to come into contact with(highly doubtful). He was sent most likely by operatives here who raise money, recruit soldiers, and Im sure these people dont like our country as Muslims only obey sharia. Know getting back to Pakistan, I only wonder what these animals think of those with American passports who are eager to train at a bin Laden camp. His spying would be to obvious and I am sure they do thorough background checks on all of their wouldbe applicants? Wonder who his references were and I also wonder what the other camp members thought of a fair-skinned individual in their midst. their are many wquestions here going unanswered, i hope this traitor(vermin) is executed slowly and painfully. Loyalty to Allah demands that one love death and I am still shocked he did not blow himself up at that prison. I also wonder if he tipped off his fellow jihadis to the knowledge that those interrrogating them were Americans. How would these people know the origin of the CIA agents. They would not understand english. This gets me back to the point of how did they let an american in the camp, unless he had intimate contact with other Muslims high up in the ranks in the country who are also high up in the terrorist ranks over there. I want answers and i think we should torture him to find out, do you agree?

We don't have to torture him, Just give him the iv Versed Drip, and have the tape recorders on. He will feel great and will sing like a canary in heat!

Otherwise, I agree with everything you have posted re the questions how an American could be one of chose few unless pre selected, traing and brain molded! He was one of the ringleaders in the revolt and last ones forced out after the revolt. He and about 20 other rats were in the basement of that last building holding out. Holding out until the NA guys flooded out the basement with cold winter Afghan water. Then he and his fellow rats swam out and climbed out!

Like you, I'm afraid that he is just the tiny tip of a very large iceberg!

Some interesting stuff in a News Weak article on Johnny Jihad.

In late 1999 John Walker came home, mostly to see his mother, who had worried about him. John felt uncomfortable in America, however, and wanted to rejoin the Islamic world. In California he fell in with a large Islamic missionary group, the Tablighi Jamaat, which, according to intelligence sources, is sometimes used as a recruiting ground by extremist groups.

Walker was taken under the wing of a Pakistani missionary named Khizar Hiyat, who had invited the impressionable Walker to join him on a drive to Nevada as he was spreading the word. After a brief return to Yemen, Walker traveled with Hiyat in Pakistan for a month before choosing the austere madrasa outside Bannu.

Is there any connection between Khizar Hiyat and the Islamic compound near Fresno or the other compounds!

It is not clear how Walker wound up in Afghanistan. A friend from a San Fran-cisco mosque told NEWSWEEK that he received an e-mail from Walker a month before he left Bannu for the “cooler mountains” in May of this year.

This post of yours is brilliant, and you have raised so many questions that I am ashamed to say I never even considered. I just have been getting the media story, you know, his parents said his heart was attached to the Taliban, yada, yada, yada, which is bizarre to say the least.
Makes me realize how easily they can pull these things off, when someone like me, who is already a bit paranoid about them being in the area doesn't even think about HOW he managed to get in the position he was in.
Thank you for opening my eyes to this, there were questions I hadn't even begun to ask yet.
