Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno?
KFSN TV 30 Fresno, CA ^ | 11-07-01 | Kevin Quinn

.Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno? There's an airstrip and neighbors complain of gunfire. Kevin Quinn takes you inside Baladullah, California.

Sorry, no transcript as of now. Video only. Worth the effort to view.

The video provides a look at this compound in the foothills above Fresno, CA. Pre 9-11, a Fresn County Sheriffs deputy was killed by a member of this peaceful Islamic community. The suspect (in the beginning trial phase still) broke into a empty nearby foothill home, when deputies arrived this guy was lying in the hallway floor with a rifle, and killed one deputy. This video is the first investigative reporting we have had on this Islamic community. The trail leads to FUQRA, a known terrorist group operating all over the world, and have several communities such as this one all over the USA.

Here is an excerpt from an article of the Sacramento Bee...

California links of terrorists probed:
Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.
By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo
Bee Staff Writers

(Published Sept. 30, 2001)

The compound Beyond seeking out ties to bin Laden-linked terrorist networks, officials are keeping tabs on another Islamic group near Fresno because of the recent killing of a sheriff's deputy in an area home, apparently stemming from a botched burglary.(this was no burglary according to all accounts)

There is no evidence that the Fresno group has been involved in any terrorist activities, officials say.

The group, according to a federal source, is part of Fuqra, an organization whose name means "poverty" in Arabic and which has had compounds in several U.S. areas.

Some Fuqra members in other areas have been implicated in past years in domestic terrorist attacks, and the State Department has labeled the group, known formally as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

The group south of Fresno operates an 1,800-acre compound called the International Quranic Open University, which sits on the former site of the drug addiction recovery cult Synanon.

The compound, a series of mobile homes shaded by trees, also serves as a U-Haul rentals location. A resident there last week refused to talk to a reporter, referring inquiries to a Visalia attorney who did not respond to a message seeking information.

Authorities have been studying the compound since the Aug. 21 slaying of Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Erik Telen. Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.

James Oppliger, Fresno County's chief deputy district attorney, said the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.

Oppliger said he since has begun studying the group and its possible connections to other organizations.

(Zavia Books) is the bookstore for this Islamic compound. It is called Koranic Open University. Note the books being sold. One of them is prefaced by ( Sheik Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani [Gilani]) a known terrorist. The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA) to Pakistan, where Sheik Gilani lives. He is the head of Fuqra.

Thank you for the first hand information. Have you seen this place, or do you live near it?
You say that those who live near it know more about it than we do, and I am sure you are correct. Notice in the news report the neighbors were hesitant to speak, some hid their idenity because they were afraid of repirsals.
Yet a lot of the spin from the "village" is that they are afraid since the attack on the WTC and Pentagon that people would go after them. In fact, they removed the sign from in front of their property.

Our government has chosen the course of Russian Roulette -- You are correct -- it's gonna take another city to go up in flames before "Homeland Security" starts to seriously clean house right here in the USA.

Until then, unfortunately, the question will remain: Which city will be sacrificed?

Neither did I until Clovis_skeptic reminded me of the newsstory after Deputy Telen was killed that said the suspect lived in an Islamic community in the hills. After the attacks of 911, he brought this to my attention, and then called me last night and told me to watch the news report.
What stood out to me from the Telen murder was the comment that the shooter seemed to have "sniper" training skills. Where did he get those if all they are hunting up there are rabbits?

That is indeed the question, unless a continent wide pandemic is released.

I did live near it and in the mid-80's I worked on this property when Synanon operated it (no I was not a member). I had free access to all of it and was intimately familiar with what is there and its history.

Boy, it is clear you have never been to this area! A starbucks and a sushi bar would NEVER exist there! BTW: Since you think you might be immune to this in your corner of the world, they appear to have these little villages all over the nation, including whereever it is you are.
I suggest you visit the Central Valley of California before you lump us in with Hollywood!

Thank you Grampa Dave for all of your help.
BTW I did a search on the California gov't page about contributions to Davis. I couldn't find anything that matched up, but then there were so many different catagories and I am not at all sure what they would use for a name either.
I do rather suspect they may be donors however, just a matter of fishing it out.

Thanks for the links, I will try these. I didn't find anything on the Governor's official website that I thought matched. However, I must say I found some of the donors to be very interesting indeed!
Does "Big Oil" ring a bell! LOL

And for me. I just knew that they made a point of saying it had an air strip on the news, so that made me curious! (er)

--oh, I know ya'all are out in the boonies there! I was just yukking it up with the typical california stereotype, same as I was yukking it up with the e-vile "militia" stererotype dudes like me get nailed with!

As to the jihader training camps, I don't think we got any of them, we *might* could have an aztlan cell here, although most of the hispanics around here are guatemalan indians who got no use for the aryan looking castillian college aztlan "elite" or mexicans in general for that matter.

Tell ya what! make up some bumper stickers IN YOUR AREA that claim "mad jihaders make great suckerfish feed" and pass em around! there ya go! HAHAHA!

I've been looking since I posted the links, but so far, nothing interesting. Do you have individual names that I can look up? The Ca. & Gray Davis pages are missing.

So much for getting more work done today.

--it's SPOOKY, ain't it? For years and years these dudes been infiltrating, now it seems like most everyday we can see how far we have gone into being..well, invaded is the word. We been invaded, penetrated, north to south, east to west. there's gotta be just as many here as in afghaniland.

I'm all for a tax rebate to cover the cost of *no security* we all been paying for in higher income taxes for decades! Tell ya something else, just topped off the jeep today, gas is a buck ten here right now, and I'm a poor guy, I will PAY 2 bucks ten a gallon to NOT be forced to buy islamic oil that gets turned into gas! I got no choice at the pumps! I don't want one of my copper cents going over there, not a penny! I say, bankrupt them! Total economic boycott! Either that, or threaten them with the boycott, then tell them we *might* be willing to buy oil at 5 bucks a barrel, PLUS, they turn over every mad jihader that we got on a list, OR, we embargo them totally, not just iraq, the whole dang passle of them, starting with saudi arabia.

Once again, this is "hypothetical".

It is a typical tactic of druggies and presumably others to use "abandoned" runways to throw off observation. Sometime fake structures are built right on the runway, these can be rolled off for covert landings.

I am not saying this is the case here, but it is in the druggie and terrorist playbook.
