--thanks for the comments! As to the media, we have the INTERNET! it's taking over, people are becoming not just consumers of the news, but reporting it, commenting on it-and making it! Because we can share, instantly, we can bypass the controlled press, or at least get to look at so many angles, that it becomes "more" real than in the past. Just like this thread, and okc submariners work, and so many others work, we all can be 'the media" now. And yes, that's really our best chance right now.

The reason that Republicans sometimes cover for Democrats and Denocrats sometimes cover for Republicans is not complicated, and you nailed it:

If either the rules or the illusions change, they might lose their grip. The whole truth about any one of a number of longstanding converups -- living American POWs abandoned in enemy hands, CIA drug running, Inslaw-Promis, BCCI, Waco, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, WTC I, OKC bombing, TWA800 -- would certainly change the illusions, and no one in the power structure of either party is going to let that happen.
