Can the Taliban's zealots question the credentials of Muslims in Turkey?
Supporters of Taliban face the truth
For years we have been an ardent supporter of freedom of religion in Turkey. We have opposed any form of repression against those who have Islamic sensitivities in our country. At times we have drawn official criticism for this.
We cherish the superior values of Islam. We feel these values have kept the suffering masses in Turkey going under during the current deep economic crisis.
Yet, now we see our country coming under fire by the Taliban. Islamic clerics in mosques in Kabul have sharply criticized fellow Muslim nations -- especially Turkey and Pakistan -- for siding with the U.S.-led coalition against the Taliban regime.
The clerics, clearly under the orders of the Taliban, went as far as to question the Islamic credentials of countries like Turkey and Pakistan.
A cleric branded those Muslims who do not support the Taliban of being Muslim in name only and warned the faithful to be wary of them.
These are the very people whose Islamic credentials should be questioned. They do not even respect the rules of Islam or maybe they do not know them. In our religion questioning the credentials of a Muslim is forbidden. That is left only to Allah.
On Friday we too were praying at a mosque in Ankara just like our brothers in Kabul. This is a free country. People are free to go to the mosque or stay away. Yet, in Turkey people flock to Friday prayers and fill the numerous mosques throughout the country. We are not forced to become Muslims and we are not forced to go to mosques. We are not herded to the mosques like in some Islamic countries. We hold Islam in high esteem and try to spread the word of Allah in a democratic society. We do not use any form of repression to spread the religion nor force people to observe Islamic rules. That is what makes it so beautiful and appealing.
Yet, in Afghanistan the Taliban has pushed the country back into the dark ages and has brought our religion into disrepute. We detest this. Turkey is making a token gesture when it sends 90 soldiers to Afghanistan. They are there to bring peace and calm to the Afghan people and put an end to the suffering.
The Taliban may use its one sided propaganda to spread misinformation but sooner or later the people of Afghanistan and some of our brothers in Pakistan will appreciate that Turkey's presence has only been to help the suffering masses who have been pushed into the dark ages by the Taliban.
Those who have voiced support for the Taliban in Turkey must really be ashamed these days. They have played into the hands of a bunch of radicals in Kabul and have unfortunately shown their ugly faces.
May God bless, guide and protect this individual for trying to get the truth out.
Can the Taliban's zealots question the credentials of Muslims in Turkey? The taliban has allies when it comes to questioning the credentials of Muslims in Turkey.
May God bless, guide and protect this individual for trying to get the truth out.A big Amen to that. This stuff does not sell papers yet though. Especially when it's about Turkey. Confuses the readers.
Anybody who calls for the restoration of the bloodthirsty Ottoman Empire ...If you read closely, ChemistCat was not calling for the restoration of the Ottoman Empire. Whether it was bloodthirsty, or how cruel it was compared to the rest of the world at the time is open for discussion. You can start by asking the Sephardic Jews who were saved by the Ottoman Empire, first from the Spanish Inquisition, and next from Hitler.. Anyway, Russia, as you know my wild and crazy russian friend, was and still is a kind and righteous land, throughout the centuries upto this day... Mother Russia was nice to its Ukranians, etc.
You can start by asking the Sephardic Jews who were saved by the Ottoman Empire, first from the Spanish Inquisition, and next from Hitler-- turko, the ottoman was dead by the time hitler was in power and running rampant through europe at will, with the exception of then Yugoslavia and Russia. You need a history lesson as well or in denial?
Umm, he wasn't refering to their rescue from Hitler, he was talking about the way the Ottomans accepted Sephardic Jews into the country in *1492*, when they were all kicked out of Spain during the Spanish Exquisition. Maybe you need the history lesson.
I have heard this. Seems like Islam is about to split.
What's up with all these bin Laden pictures? Aren't pictures of people forbidden in Taliban land?
