Talk show host Tom Sullivan just reported that during a press conference Gov. Davis said he was notified that there is evidence that terrorists plan to target the Coronado Bridge (San Diego), the Golden Gate & Bay Bridges (San Francisco) and an LA Bridge (didn't catch the name) tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 2nd.
My thoughts, too. Don't assume that this warning has all of the facts absolutely accurate.
Probably not. That channel is pretty deep. Besides there are a lot of dredges sitting there that could clear quickly. There used to be a story floating around that in case of harbor blockage, they would blow out a section of the Silver Strand to clear a passage. The explosives are supposedly already buried in place.
That's nothing personal, because you aren't the only one by far, but posting what you HEARD on a radio show to which most others do not have access, quoting a "talk-show host" (I assume) who could be credible, or could be a loony like Art Bell or Michael Savage, communicates no useful information.I love Art Bell and Michael Savage! By the way, I exhcanged a coupla emails w/Savage wherein he said he's a regular Freepers reader (HI MIKE!). Welcome to the loony bin, eh?
tiajuana?? Never heard of it. Must be near hooterville.
Gov Gray Davis says so, it must be true.
Huh? You havent heard of the San Fernando Bay Bridge?! It crosses the LA river in Van Nuys.
Last time I was in LA, there were a lot of bridges associated with the freeways. Some of them are on the large side, although not crossing open water. Losing such a bridge would force traffic to use surface routes, which might or might not be a major inconvenience.

Now would you explain to me how the heck an aircraft carrier is going to pass underneath a bridge with clearance that low and that narrow?
I wanna see a poll after this news of bridge threats, with ONE question:
"DO YOU BELIEVE PROFILING SHOULD BE USED AT THE BAY BRIDGE AND GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE TO PULL OVER DRIVERS OF MIDDLE-EASTERN DESCENT FOR A SEARCH OF THEIR VEHICLES?"
